In reply to: [BuddyPress Group Dice] Not Working; Not Supported!I’m not here to pick sides, but there are several things that are important to note:
- The BuddyPress Group Dice plugin page specifically states that the plugin is only compatible with WordPress 3.5.1 and BuddyPress 1.7.2.
- www.ads-software.com plugins are all maintained free of charge and are generally open source. If developers choose not to continue supporting them, it may be quite annoying. However, they produced something for free and have no obligation to continue updating the plugins. It’s up to you to see when it was last updated when you research the plugin.
- If you’re going to give a review, please give more detail. I am a developer and could possibly work to update this, but I need more specifics about your experience.
- Lastly, both of you need to respect the community here. We don’t need to be angry and upset with each other, but rather work together to fix the problem at hand.
I hope both of you understand this. Thank you.

In reply to: [Participants Database] Go to record form from listAlso, because of restrictions, I can’t use the theme or plugin editor, or FTP to modify this – it needs to all work within the WYSIWYG editor.

In reply to: Having a terrible time with Word Press….So before I say this, because I want to keep in line with the forum rules, I am not a freelancer and I have no personal gain from advising you about this.
A site many of my friends have used is called Elance, and they offer a lot of support and security to protect you as an employer of a freelancer. You only pay as work is complete, I believe.
Hope this solves your issue (please mark as resolved if so :] )

In reply to: Menu Bug – help!Unfortunately not, you have to have FTP access to the installation. Maybe you should contact your host and ask if they can help you do a clean install content of the core files, but without losing all of your content.
They should be able to do that.

In reply to: Having a terrible time with Word Press….I would start on ThemeForest, and look for a premium theme. You get what you pay for, so a lot of times these themes are higher quality.
After you find a theme that matches what you want, find a developer. There’s lots of freelancers available that would be happy to help you. Or, you can try changing it on your own and contact your theme developer for support – that’s the advantage of having a premium theme!
Remember that you should probably set up a staging environment while you get your new site set up, and then switch over to it once you’re sure you like it. It doesn’t have to be tedious, but just be open to new ideas.

In reply to: Menu Bug – help!I would try installing a clean copy of WordPress then – make sure you copy and backup your wp-content folder so you don’t lose information!
This could fix any problems with core files that could have been messed up during everyday use.

In reply to: Cannot access my siteIf you have ftp access, try renaming your plugins folder “plugins-old” to see if that’s causing the issue. If that doesn’t help, there are a variety of other things it may be ??

In reply to: Having a terrible time with Word Press….I would probably agree with your hosting service.
E-Commerce themes often include hooks that work with these plugins, making the whole process much smoother. Otherwise, its up to the plugin to do the heavy lifting, and updates can cause massive integration problems.
Also, you want to be careful about how you customize your theme/how much it gets updated. Good support is essential!

In reply to: Cannot access my siteDid you recently perform an update on your WordPress site?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Menu Bug – help!Have you recently installed any plugins, themes, or updates that could have caused this? It’s very odd for it to just randomly stop working well.

In reply to: Having a terrible time with Word Press….Can you send a link to your site? It’s hard to understand your situation without some more detail.
Also, since you updated, you might want to check that all of your plugins and themes are compatible with 3.8 – if they aren’t, that’s most likely the source of your problem.
