In reply to: 2.9 Installation Fails Everytimeum, well I don’t know how to do a restore…or not sure if I do? LOL
I’m just chicken to try it now. The automatic updates have always worked before. This is the first time I have encountered a problem like one.

In reply to: 2.9 Installation Fails Everytimethis is just ridiculous about the new version! I have done quite a few of the updates with no problems! Yesterday I saw there was a new version so did the automatic update (did my backups first) and got an installation failure relating to .js files…
so today I tried again and this is what I got:
Unable to locate WordPress Root directory.
Installation Failed
LOL well I should hope it’s there as my blog is up an running.
What a joke this update is.

In reply to: What or Why do I need subscribers (Users)samboli
that is what I did. I guess I am confused what happens when they subscribe? Does the program send them an email when I do a new post …what does it do? just confused here…
Kawauso: yes that is what the mini dashboard showed, just basic stuff…but like I said, just confused over what it means to the person when they subscribe…what do they get out of it?
Hope I have made that a bit plainer?

In reply to: “connections-reloaded” theme is suckingI’d like to see what you did…..if you don’t mind. I just used my graphic editor and place the picture inside the .gif graphic and that worked fine.
This is such a great theme that it is sad that it doesn’t work right with the header graphic!

In reply to: “connections-reloaded” theme is suckingThanks Esmi.
Here is a thread from the theme homepage talking about exactly what pearsandplums and I have had problems with.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: “connections-reloaded” theme is suckingWhat I mean is I had header graphic and it gives me the option to crop the graphic down to size. Which I did (same as at WP.com) but when you do this, it still leaves a sliver of the original green graphic.
So that is what I am asking, if after you crop the graphic and the program replaces it, do the other themes do that correctly?
no other changes were made to the CSS at the time. It was a straight d/l.

In reply to: “connections-reloaded” theme is suckingI had the same problem as you. I was left with a tiny sliver on the bottom…part of the green graphic. I finally had to use the graphic editor and took the header image and placed my graphic into it.
Are all the themes like this where it doesn’t place the custom header correctly? I was spoiled with WP.com

In reply to: Custom Header Image Size; original image showingThanks esmi…..for right now I am just going to delete it. I ended up messing up the permissions and now have to have someone clean up my mess in there.
I didn’t realize this would be so hard to figure out. Read through the documentation and all and it seemed pretty straightforward.
I would have thought that uploading a new custom header image would over write the current one, but it doesn’t seem to be working that way…. so maybe I should just stay at the .com wp.
