Just a bump for this question, I too need a quick and easy way to delete old post, I run a blog aggregator using FeedWordpress. Over the three months I have accumulated over 7000 posts, I am sure no one is bothered to read a four month old post on an aggregator, so personally I want to keep my database small and efficient and NOT a big fat cow.

I can go to each post and delete individually, but this will be a nightmare, can I delete posts from the SQL Database? The risk on physically deleting from the SQL database which I see evidently that one might also delete PAGES if not careful.

Maybe call it a bump for this post – but I too am in search of an automated method to delete OLD posts. I run an aggregator and would like to delete 6 month old posts. in the past 6 months I have already piled up 3000+ posts from all the feeds coming in

Any help would be appreciated, a manual method would be tedious

I too stand at a standstill with this emial comments option – I have deleted the $more comment as well as made changes as mentioned in mosquito changesets 2365 and 2415 with no change –

I run 1.5 have a valid email address in the admin, my domain does support emails but I still have yet to receive any email from the Blog even the password recovery is not sending an email. Puzzled

I have removed the $more in the functions.php but still ocntinue to have the problem. other problems i face maybe linked? messed up archive pages – the archive pages dont show up in WP but instead it shows teh dircetory of HTML files on the server. Gravatar signin plugin not showing up though inserted automatically – I use WP 1.5

It does not mean all are linked but maybe there is some other glitch-Puzzled

When I move from Blogspot – should I make a post on the blogspot site announcing to the world that I have moved or will it automatically forward itself.

I am confused as in one of the steps during the conversion I am asked to delete my template on blogspot and insert a one line code that is in the Import-blogger.php file, what is the purpose of this code.

As far as link backs are concerned do they still go to the blogspot address or are the somehow forwarded to my new WP based domain- Thanx again.

I seem to have problems downloading in both FireFox and IE. If I use it with GetRight it says “Service unknown for /referrer…….”.

If I turn off GetRight monitoring and save then it downloads only 300 or so kb and stops – it contiunes to casue problems even after a reboot –

I have been trying for the past 5 days probably offset the download counter by 25-30 unsucessful downloads ?? any help would be appreciated.
