I am also getting this error. I am using 1.3.7 with WP 3.9.2

Does anyone have any ideas as I have a feeling that the developer is no longer supporting this application.

Beginning to think that this plugin is no longer being supported.

I finally solved this after LOTS of red herrings, false trails and unfortunate time wasting…. it wasn’t anything to do with Subscribe2.

In order to send emails via our SMTP server rather than the WordPress mail one, we have “WP-Mail-SMTP” plugin installed. This works brilliantly, but the password had been changed on the server and not corrected on the plugin settings.

Thus subscribe2 was creating and trying to send the emails but they were unable to go because of the mismatch of the password at our SMTP server.

I hope this helps anyone else wh has this problem.

I am also having this problem. I saw somewhere that wp-cron was obselete, so do I only need to reinstall subscribe2 and not wp-cron?

Thanks for your message. No worries – I rethought it and with a little help from ‘van’ on MailChimp support, configured the MC login emails and pages so that they delivered the freebie I was wanting to offer and still retained the contacts on the MC list.

Yes, I continue to have this problem. In the end, I have ‘redesigned’ my site so that users don’t register for anything exclusive on the site itself, and instead all communication is done via MailChimp with the site simply parsing the signup to them. I realise that I was lucky being able to do this.

I don’t know how to ecalate what is obviously a bug. My fear is that it is simply embedded in future releases.

I am only using the English version (no language modules) and am having the same problem. I’ve tried the Configure SMTP plugin and it made no difference. Other messages are being sent – it is the email with the password specifically that is not.

If you then visit the reset password option, it sends a message perfectly and you can enter one.

Bizarre. Can’t be the first to notice this. Can anyone resolve it PLEASE!?

Me too. Would be nice to see some of these messages replied to. The author says he has hosting issues, in which case this forum is the only place to get help or find answers.
