GeoffGreg
I’ve left it alone for a couple of days.
After getting into dashboard, accessing the first choice of page – posts, statistics etc – seems to take a minute or two. subsequently things speed up but waiting time does vary. Time of day?
It is a mystery. Perhaps it lies in my host’s servers being under pressure or something. Nevertheless everything works and the stats are fine so I guess I will accept it as is.
Greatly appreciate your patience.
GeoffApologies. The widget just seems to add the item to the side bar.
As for loading, it seems to take a long time for different areas to load. For example, I just waited ten minutes to get to my plugin listing and also, earlier, to add a new post. This doesn’t seem to happen when the this plugin is deactivated.
I’m very appy with these stats sdo don’t want to stop using them. Is there a reason or am I wide of the mark?
Thanks
GeoffYes, 0.03. Map is fine now but the whole plugin takes a long time to load. I guess that’s because of the size of it. Otherwise all well.
Thanks for all your prompt action Greg.Thank you. Most problems seem to be resolved but plugin is slow to load. Visitor map still problematic.
Thank you. V10.0.2 seems better. The summary stats come up but the visitor map just scrolls. Other elements open if I click them individually.
Moving between items on the dashboard seems ok now but the stats are way out. At last viewing it listed only 4 unique visitors when I know it should be considerably higher.
Overall the plugin seems better but I’m not convinced yet. Thanks for your prompt efforts and advice to resolve though.
GeoffFurther to my last, like DirkD I too cleared the cache, restarted browser etc. It’s been a really good plugin – please resolve.
I am experiencing similar problems. With the plugin deactivated all is well. With it on I too get endless running wheels on all elements. Interminable wait for any results. Badly affects performance of whole dashboard -seems to impede all other areas. Shame because it’s been a useful plugin. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Geoff

In reply to: robots.txtThanks Tara
First response is this:
“The robots.txt file belongs in your document root folder.
You can simply create a blank file and name it robots.txt. This will reduce site errors and allow all search engines to rank anything they want.”
Is this correct and where is the root folder? Thanks
Thanks Greg. I’ll ignore the figure in future.
Cheers Greg
Great support. Much appreciated. Geoff
All I see in my list of plugins is the option to update – which I’ve done. Under settings there is a list of headings and I can find statistical reporting but I can’t find anyway the option to go statistics>Optimization>Database or visit index. Remember I’m using the free version and it was fine until a week or so ago.
Please note that I have no technical knowledge which is why I rely on plugins to provide info. Please advise.
Thank you.
GeoffThanks Greg
I’ve reinstalled the plugin after the the update but I’m still getting the skewed figures as before. Please advise.
Thanks
GeoffYes, I already have. I realise that everywhere I look the numbers are different but the disparity between Google and WP Stats is enormous. I have heard that others say that Google is inaccurate – something to do with Javascript – but that doesn’t help when potential business partners use Google and thus don’t rate you.
I don’t have the time or knowledge to get into the technicalities, I just want to find out why this happens and what I can do about it, if anything. When I quote my WP stats they don’t believe it as they are so reliant on Google. I expect many others experience this.
Thanks for any advice. Geoff
