  • I’m having exactly the same problem.
rgruenke, How did you solve the problem?
    Thank you!

nevermind, there was a conflict with another plugin

forgot to mention something. It literally says:

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

But then there’s not any option. That’s my problem. I can’t do anything with this plugin right now.

Thank you kjodle. You are right. I was thinking about this and here is my plan.

Registration is compulsory to comment on an article and when registering the user decides whether or not to receive newsletter by ticking the option. I know this can be done easily with lots of “login plugins”.

I am still testing many of them trying to find the right one. So far, I can’t find one that can do all these:

    – The plugin allows to login, register a new account or recover a forgotten password.
    – It allows users to choose their own password (not the random one decided by wordpress) and decide if they want to receive a newsletter (two options: daily or weekly). This means, if they tick the newsletter option, automatically will be added to a list of subscribers (which will be handled with another newsletter creation plugin)
    – The plugin automatically handles double opt-in. This mean when a new user sings up, he/she will automatically receive a confirmation mail with a confirmation link.

Finally, the most difficult part: users won’t see any wordpress back end stuff in their experience (they don’t have a profile etc…)

It would be great if there was a plugin out there doing all this at the same time. So far, from what I learned, the newsletter and login actions can be managed only with two or more separate plugins.

I’ll keep researching and let you know findings. Meanwhile, if someone has a solution that would be great.

Thank you kjodle! I’m going to try it. It looks like a good solution.

One more thing. I was planning on implementing a newsletter. I’m still researching on different free and paid plugins.

I was looking for something so that when someone sings up on my website, they are automatically added to the newsletter.

So to be clear, I want users to be able to sing up in my website only to comment on news and also be included in the newsletter. So basically the newsletter should be integrated with the registration. I assume everybody does this. So maybe someone can give me some advice.

Instead of two plugin for each thing, is there a ‘one stop’ solution out there?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    I’ll close the threat then

thank you esni. I’ll keep searching for “the theme”. Because so far it has been useless.

I don’t understand why all video themes need to rely on custom fields in order to show the videos (in pages, posts,….). It is much easier to just copy the embed code in the post like in blogger and other CMS…

    cheers for your reply!

I see nobody know anything? I’ve read plenty of related discussions (also outside www.ads-software.com forums). Many people have similar concerns with not apparent solution.

Where can I suggest to have this short of plugin developed?

Forgot to say that I also have posts with only text (no images and no embedded videos). Another useful setting I need would be the availability to set a default feature image. So the plugin would do:
    1. set feature image
    2. if not images in post set embedded video thumbnail as feature image
    3. if not image or video in post, set default feature image

that way all post will have a feature image.

Sorry if I complicated it to much.

Thanks a lot for any help!
