Is there a way to get OSX\safari to open the way the others do?

Yes, It seems open in different ways according to which OS/browser is used

I am running OSX and Safari. If I click on the link from my Win 7 box another tab opens and asks if I want to run or save. If I pick run, word opens and the doc opens. If I open it on my iPad with safari the doc opens in a new tab and shows the file.

Does it seem like a osx/safari issue?
