I got the http error only with password-protected .htaccess file.

But I got the error only when using Ubuntu/Firefox (or Epiphany or Opera)/Flash player 9.
I have no error with Windows XP/IE7 (or IE6 or Firefox)/Flash player 9.

Did you try to modify the file tiny_mce_gzip.php as said in https://trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/3144 ?

You should have the line 131 as described in the patch.

None other solution had worked for me until this one.

Faustina, did you try deactivating all Firefox extensions ?

Never mind the server. WordPress was working very well _before_ the migration to 2.1 release… with the same server !

It’s a real problem…

More and more stranger… I tried on IE7 at my office… All was working well. Visual editor was ok.

Now, I trying again with IE7 from my home… no visual editor… ??

Firefox 2.0.1 doesn’t work in both my office and home…

None of the “soluces” explained above does anything for the proble…

If no solution is found quickly I will switch to another software (like DotClear)… but I really prefer WordPress…

For me, after upgrading with WP 2.1… it’s ok in IE7 but not with Firefox 2.0.0.1… !? Still can’t get formatting buttons, and can’t get tabs (Visual/Code)

Very strange… it’s ok in IE7… but can’t work for me with Firefox 2.0.0.1. I tried refresh of the page, deleting all cookies, cache, desactivating all extensions, etc… formatting buttons are still not visible ?!

I have switched to use the visual editor… but the problem still there… it seems to be a javascript bug in tinyMCE integration.

For me, there’s a bug in the tinyMCE integration.
