i’ve tried viewing my admin in both camino 1.6.5 and safari 3.1.2
i got around the problem but installing the Manageable plugin that allows you to set the categories in the manage page but the problem is still there in the post page.
btw. i upgraded to WP 2.7 and still had the problem also features for my nextgen gallery didn’t work. can’t say that the problems are necessarily connected but i have no idea. It’s just these things that aren’t working
I reverted back to WP 2.6 because less seemed broken.

ok, i changed the permissions for the entire blog to 755. i did this before with no results but this time it worked!
now all my nextgen slideshow and flashviewers work.

for those who run into this problem. just change permissions through your ftp software. filezilla works well. you can control click on any file or folder and chose a permission. type in 755. recurse into subdirectories.

also, slideshow doesn’t work for me either, just a spinning wheel.
i followed all the directions included. have most recent versions of everything.
tried suggestions such as enabling hotlink (doesn’t work)
changing permissions. right now my gallery folder is set to 777 but i’ve tried 666, 766, 755 (doesn’t work)
disabling other plugins (doesn’t work)
reinstalled (doesn’t work)
even switched theme in case there was a conflict there (no dice)

all i have working is the basic Nextgen gallery. thickbox works in safari not in camino. i was surprised that i was able to get imageflow to work but i did not keep that installed.

i’m sure there is an easy solution because so many people have this working. i hope someone could tell me what is wrong.

I have the same problem.
Nextgen works (thickbox on some browsers) but none of the flashviewers work for me.
the readme.txt says to include scale. simpleviewer=gallery-ID,height,width]
I’ve tried that. i get the “gallery not found” error.
it seems that this is pretty common problem but i have not seen a solution that works for me.
does someone know if flashviewer is looking for the gallery in a different place than Nextgen? doesn’t seem like it should be but

i think you are right about moving to a new host. i wish i did not recently pay for another year but oh well. The k2 based theme that i have installed worked fine for months I’ll try your suggestion to make sure but you are the second person to say that the problem is on their end and not mine and since this is just the last in a long list of problems i’ve had with Bluefish recently, i think i should cut my losses.

problem solved. had to perform a chmod 777 on directory. do this though your ftp client to make directory writable before changing permalink structure.

ah ok, so now if i change the permalink structure to something other than default all the categories come up as errors. do i have to edit all my posts now?

been looking for days. I thought of using a photo gallery and adding hyperlinks to my blog entries where i use vPIP to display my videos hosted on Blip.tv. but alas, i don’t know any code and even this solution became too frustrating to deal with.
I don’t and will not be using youtube. I compress my own videos because i am a professional.
I can’t believe that nobody has come up with a good solution for this yet. vodpod’s gallery style is ok but again, i don’t know code so it is useless to me and besides that using my own thumbnails is incredibly important to me also and vodpod seems to generate it’s own, plus you have to subscribe and do everything through them but maybe it will work for you.
this doesn’t seem like it is such an outlandish thing to ask for, does it?
