UPDATE
I created a clone site where I deactivated ALL plugins but Sunshine and activated a WP theme but still having the same issue. Even deleted and re-installed Sunshine and also created a new user as Sunshine Manager but always getting the same access error accessing the Orders page.Only WP admins get access there.
Is there maybe something to do at the WP options pages?
I don’t well understand how those roles are supposed to work here. I had enabled User Role Editor plugin but I removed it. I need this new user to be an Editor. If I activate only this role I still have the same problem with access to Orders.
In order to have 2 roles – Sunshine Manager + Editor – I tried User Role Editor. Now that I removed User Role Editor I have to chose between Editor and Sunshine Manager as I can only activate 1 single role. Both of them have the same issue with accessing Orders page. Only the Admin role gives access to Orders page.
I also created a new user for testing and he had exactly the same issue.
I tried deactivating some plugins like the Cache and a couple of others without any result. Before trying deactivating all plugins: is there something else to try?
Yep, this solved the issue!
Many thanks for your assistance.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Plugins compatibility with PHP 8.xYeah, I know about WP but my question relates to plugins.
When sating “PHP 7.0 and higher”, does it mean “including PHP 8.x”?Got it, many thanks for this and especially to @maneyact who provided very extensive help for setting this structure up at my site, with comprehensive assistance and patience!
@wpsunshine thanks for this.
I fully understand this but my question was how to create different gallery pages with sub-galleries inside them. Your demo page doesn’t show this.
What do you mean by “hierarchy of galleries” exactly? Sub-galleries inside galleries?
Yes, now I start getting this more clearly.
In the free version there is no such thing as “Client Galleries” but rather a “Sunshine Main Page” set the same way as you describe. I include a screenshot in email.
Do you also imply that “Show 2022” and “Show 2024” should be set as sub-pages?
I’m sending my email reply right now and thanks for testing with the free version as I cannot do much testing on my live site.Yes sure, will send you an email asap, thanks for your help!
In fact, my question is:
– Would it make any sense, based on my example above, to have a MASTER PAGE set as the “Sunshine Main Page” and then PAGE A, B, C… set as sub-pages. And the MASTER PAGE being empty with only links to the other sub-pages. Technically, this is possible of course but I’m asking in relation of Sunshine settings. Many thanks for testing, great!
But I still don’t understand the structure you suggest with pages and galleries…Can you please give me the structure of the pages by using the example I posted previously?
I want to have different pages with different groups of galleries.
PAGE A should host Galleries #1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
PAGE B should host Galleries #6,7,8.
PAGE C should host Galleries #9, 10, 11, 12.How to accomplish this and with which shortcode?
Given that the shortcode [sunshine_galleries] lists all existing galleries (#1-12) and also only one single page can be defined as the “Sunshine Main Page”.Again:
– which page will become the “Sunshine Main Page” and how will I manage the other pages please?I really don’t understand what is a “parent gallery”!
I see only parent pages.@wpsunshine Does the plugin author have a suggestion please?
OK, thanks, that looks much better now.
Are you sure we can just add one shortcode after the other that way?And if this works that way, which page to define as “Sunshine Main Page”?
Sorry again but the more we get into this the more I’m getting confused…
Let’s try again with different formulation of the question in order to simplify and forget my initial post:
I want to have different pages with different groups of galleries.
PAGE A should host Galleries #1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
PAGE B should host Galleries #6,7,8.
PAGE C should host Galleries #9, 10, 11, 12.How to accomplish this and with which shortcode?
Given that the shortcode [sunshine_galleries] lists all existing galleries (#1-12) and also only one single page can be defined as the “Sunshine Main Page”.Sorry, no I really don’t get it. Totally confused.
I don’t have 5 sub-pages. I currently have a single page “Show 2022” that includes 5 galleries and want to do the same for 2024. What are sub-categories?
OK I see now your last comment and it’s more clear, thanks.
But I still don’t understand this sentence from your initial comment;
“Then when the main “Dance 2024” page is selected, the client will see each sub page listed and they simply select that page.”
– by “will see” do you mean that I need to add links to the sub-pages, right?
They are not automatically listed at main page. But now I realize that my problem remains the same:
– how to have different galleries in each sub-page?
If I use the same shortcode [sunshine_galleries] I’ll get all of them in every page…Oops, sorry. This time I’m completely lost…
I’ll have 2 GROUPS of galeries: “Show 2022” and “Show 2024” (and later another one and so on…).
I need to have a generic page that groups all those galleries as sub-pages and this would be something like “All Shows Image Galleries” and would be set as the main Sunshine page. So, I don’t really understand what you state here above, sorry.
Thanks for this. In this case the main page would rather be “Dance Galleries” and then 2 sub-pages like “Show 2022” and “Show 2024”.
OK, but I still don’t understand how each one of those pages can have different groups of galeries, as Sunshine’s settings, under Settings>Pages & URLs is asking to provide a “Main Galleries Page” (set as “Sunshine Main Page”). Which one would that be?
