In reply to: Missing left hand nav in Admin Control PanelMy settings administration panel has disappeared. I have checked my plug-ins, but I only have akismet loaded.
We have migrated wordpress from our server on site to a remotely hosted server and a number of the settings e.g. media library upload etc. need changing, but without access to the settings administration panel I am struggling.
Anyone got some suggestions as to possible fixes?
Thanks.

In reply to: rss feed setup help please<p>Hi, I am a very recent user of WP. I was trying to load my feeds from a feed reader (Google reader) but I could not get the RSS widget to recognise the URL as a feed.</p>
<p>I can get single feeds recognised through the widget e.g. https://www.usfa.dhs.gov/rss/usfa.xml, but I am still not sure how to have multiple feeds picked up.</p>
<p>Interestingly I put the feed URL for my blog through feed burner. It created a feed URL, but what’s the use of having your own blog posts listed on your blog?!? I tried burning a feed for the google reader URL, but it is not recognised as a feed URL, either by FeedBurner or through Feed Validator. I hopes this helps. Beyond having one feed, I am not sure how to get multiple feed URL’s showing in the side bar?</p>Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: WP 2.5 – Auto Update – Hostname QuestionI seem to have a similar problem. I have put in:
hostname: ftp://(computer_name)@(ip address of website for blog)
username: admin
password: ooooooooand it keeps coming up with the error message:
Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct.
I have tried sftp://….. instead of ftp and it makes no difference.
I have tried ftp://(ip address of website for blog) and still the error message.
Any ideas please?
PS: I have gone to https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/add-to-any-subscribe/ and downloaded the zip file in the mean time, but I would still like to know what the host name should be?
