Hi @jtgraham38, WooCommerce doesn’t require users to be logged in to make a purchase.
However, Moodle can only create a user for a purchased product if the buyer is logged in. To ensure proper enrollment, I recommend disabling guest checkout on your site.
Hi Jacob, our replies are inline :
- Is there a way to place a link from the course product page on WordPress to the course page on moodle? And is there anywhere on WordPress that shows your account settings/owned courses from Moodle?
>> Currently there is no link from the course product page on WordPress to the course page on moodle, however we have added this in our roadmap.
Yes, under My Account you can see My Courses , there you can see all the courses that you have purchased.
- What happens if a user tries to buy a course when they are not logged in to my WooCommerce site? How will they be enrolled in that case?
>> A user needs to be registered in the site to be enrolled in Moodle course.
Hi @jtgraham38, yes “enrollment on purchase” flow is included in the free version of the plugin.
Currently, the only way to enroll a user in a course is by purchasing the course. There isn’t an option to manually enroll users through our system, but you can still manually enroll them directly in Moodle.
@arsahosting, I understand that guest checkout is an important feature for you, and it’s great to see interest in this functionality. However, one of the core features of our plugin is the SSO and user synchronization, which depends on user registration in WordPress to effectively link accounts between WordPress and Moodle.
If guest checkout were enabled, we wouldn’t be able to maintain support for SSO or user synchronization, as these require the user’s registration and consent to properly function across platforms.
While we truly appreciate the effort you’ve put into the pull request, we currently don’t see a way to integrate guest checkout without compromising the SSO and user sync feature. However, we’re open to collaborating further to troubleshoot the issue, and we’ll continue reviewing your proposed changes to explore potential solutions.
Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
MoumitaThank you for bringing this to our attention.
To clarify, we currently do not support guest checkout for course purchases. The guest checkout option allows users to place orders without creating an account in WordPress, but for MooWoodle to work correctly, we must create a corresponding user in both WordPress and Moodle. This is essential because MooWoodle has support for Single Sign-On (SSO) and two-way user synchronization between WordPress and Moodle. Without a WordPress user account, we can’t sync or create a Moodle user, which is why guest checkout isn’t supported for course purchases.
We also looked into your GitHub pull request, but unfortunately, the solution is not working on our end. We appreciate your effort, though, and we’re happy to continue exploring this together ??
Let us know if you need any further clarification.

Hi @koryooo, sorry to hear that you have faced this issue.
However the test connection is working fine on our end, as you can see here https://www.loom.com/share/0800a62f38144a409836dad83babb2e9
It seems like there is some plugin/theme conflict. Just to be sure, disable all the plugins except WooCommerce and MooWoodle and check again.?
If the issue still exists, please switch to some default theme such as Twenty Sixteen and check again.
Please do keep us posted so we can help you out.
Hi @davelo, thanks for reporting the issue. The dev team has been informed and they will soon release the fix.
