In reply to: Can I use Tools-Export to backup my site?Thank you for the link. It’s got a lot of good information.
I find the Tools=>Export option to be interesting because it makes clear exactly what you are saving–content, etc. Hostgator assures me that full-cPanel backups save everything, but I simply want to be sure.
Thanks again for your help,

In reply to: How do I turn off squiggly red underline/spellcheck?I’ve toggled the button and updated the post with no change. The squiggly red line is still there, both in the visual mode and the HTML mode. I have two blogs, and there is no red line in either mode on my other blog. Any ideas?
Thanks,

In reply to: How can I remove the rotator from my blog? The Thesis Theme does support widgets, but the rotator is not a widget. It doesn’t show up anywhere on the widgets display in the admin area. I think it’s part of the WordPress installation, but when I remove the folder from the site using the ftp client, a warning message appears in the rotator’s place on the site. I would like to remove or relocate the rotator, and I’m sure I’m not the first blogger to want to do so. It seems to me that WordPress should already have a relatively easy way to do this, without having to know php and manipulate code. I’ll take a look at the code to see if I can find the section you refer to. Thanks again for your help.

In reply to: How can I remove the rotator from my blog? Thanks for responding. I’m using WordPress with the Thesis Theme. I believe the rotator came with the original WordPress installation. I’ve removed the photos from the rotator, so that’s why you see an empty bow on the sidebar.
When I download the rotator to my computer and delete it from the site (using the ftp client), a warning message appears on the site in place of the box on the sidebar. The rotator, to my knowledge, is not a widget. It’s part of the WordPress installation package. I would like to remove the rotator and retain the option to replace it in the future, if I choose. Any ideas?
Thanks,

In reply to: Can I modify the font and size of heading tagsWhen I open the custom.css file at wp-content/themes/thesis_17/custom, I get a small file with no real css code in it. I don’t understand where I can view and edit the actual css instructions for heading tags. The article referred to titled Customizing Thesis with custom.css says “2. Make whatever changes you want to make, and then save the file,” but I don’t see any code to change.

In reply to: Broken rss feedI didn’t know to clear the cache, but thank you for the tip. I’ve reloaded the nav menu, and it seems to work OK. During the change, the size of the content text changed from 16 to 14, so I changed that back, as well. Thanks, t-p for you help.

In reply to: Broken rss feedI tried deactivating the plugins, with no change.
I switched to the default theme, and there was no rss feed icon displayed. So I switched to Thesis 1.6 (I was using 1.7.), and the rss feed button worked there. When I switched back to Thesis 1.7 and the rss feed started working, but I lost the navigation bar at the top. I reentered the nav information, and now it looks as if I’ll need to make some adjustments to sizing, but the rss feed is working now.
Thanks for the help!

In reply to: Broken rss feedt-p Thanks, I’ll try both this morning.
Samuel I don’t know what you mean when you say “switch to this.” I understand that the url gives a feed, but how do I place it into my blog so it displays and readers can use it?
