Hi support,
I have set the max width and height to 2400 pixels and it works (e.g. 9885 x 6590 is resized to 2400 x 1600). But now I have uploaded an image with the size of 1004 x 2573 pixels, which isn’t resized to 2400 pixels (also tried the other orientation 2573 x 1004 pixels).
Somehow I suspect it is because of the size/dimension. Is there some kind of minimum width/height which has to be exceeded so the plugin resizes the images?
Not a big problem, just wondering if this is the expected behaviour or I’m missing something.
Best regards,
Michael
We found what appears to be a conflict between this plugin and popup plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/popup-maker/ where when both installed/active it causes the popup plugin to create an error where JS files fail to load, which breaks the popup plugin functionality.
See the support thread over at popup maker…
Thanks
]]>Hi. Just started using Imsanity – I love it and it mostly does everything I want. One small issue for me: My images are hosted elsewhere, on Digital Ocean, separate from the main WP installation. If I switch to ‘list view’ in the Media Library, under the ‘Imsanity’ column, I see the message ‘cannot find specified path’for every image. I don’t think it impacts on the functionality, but it’s irritating to see the apparent ‘error’. Any way to put this right? Thanks, Steve
]]>Hi there,
If we select the option to delete originals, does that affect the ability of WP to create thumbnails. In you text you say “Remove the large pre-scaled originals that WordPress retains for thumbnail generation.” So basically if those originals are removed, can the site still create thumbnails where / if required?
Thanks!
]]>I am finding that when jpgs are uploaded either directly through the media library browser or programmatically via sideloading an image URL, they get converted to png format. It seems that this happens when the images are larger than the large image dimensions in the media settings. Any help on why this might be happening would be appreciated.
This happens with or without Imsanity activated.

]]>Hi, the current v2.8.3. version was released in september 2023, but you last updates the plugin 3 days ago on 23 april 2024 where you changed a few files in the repository without releasing an actual update. This causes the Wordfence security plugin to throws a warning because there are now 3 files in the repository that are different from the one in my WP Installations.
I saw it were just just minor changes, but you can’t changes files in the repository without releasing a new version, as it will trip a warning in every WP security scanner.
Can you please release an update?
Thanks
JP
i installed imsanity to try resizing images in my media library, and now want to remove the plugin as its not fit for my purpose.
However – when i click on deactivate in the plugins list… the page refreshes, a notice says “plugin deactivated” – but the plugin still shows as activcated (because the deactivate option is still there). If i try and manually remove the plugin folder, and the relevent database entries which i can find – the plugin page then says “imsanity/imsanity.php is missing, plugin deactivcated” =- but i cant find where this is referenced to (in the database or local files) to try and delete it
]]>Hello! thank you in advance. The problem I have is that I used the bulk option but apparently forgot to save changes with the option selected to Delete Original. the process went fine but the originals were not deleted.
My question is: how can I bulk delete the original images, because if I run the queue again, it will say the image doesn’t need to be resized, but I want to delete the original to free up server space. thanks
Hello,
these two:
– delete originals
– compress ratio
are applied actually only when a resize is done. Is there a way to process ALL images and:
– delete originals (even if the image is not supposed to be resized, because it fits in the limits)
– rewrite the image (to apply the lower set image quality, even if the image is not supposed to be resized, because it fits in the limits). Ideally here the rewrite should be done to a temp file, compare sizes and rewrite only if it is in specific threshold of optimized size (i.e. if the size of the file becomes greater, or lower but w/o a big difference, to ignore the rewrite process).
Dear Support/Team,
I use the Imsanity plugin on all my websites already for many years. I am very pleased with your outstanding plugin.
But with recent version 2.8.3 I noticed the EXIF information is removed from the image uploaded. I have downgraded my website to version 2.8.2 and with this version EXIF information is not removed from my uploaded photo’s.
I would like to keep the EXIF info on my images. Could this be fixed please?
Your help will be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
wp-fred

I am using CyberSEO Lite and when it creates a post from an RSS feed, imsanity isn’t resizing the images. It will only resize when i manually upload images.
Is there a way I can solve this? Maybe by adding some php code into functions.php ?

]]>Hi there,
I have the Max Width set to ‘0’, to disable to option and Max Height set to ‘720’ pixels, but when I try to upload an image that is over 720 pixels wise it get scaled to the Max Height amount of 720 even though the Max Width set to ‘0’.
I was trying to upload a header that is 1240 px wide by 80 px high and assumed with the Max Width set to ‘0’ no scaling would happen.
Is this supposed to happen?

]]>Hi there,
Is there a function snippet I can use to exclude specific images by ID or class, when I do a bulk resize please?
I have a few headers that I’d like to skip from being resized as they are wider than my product images.
Alternatively, and potentially better for my specific usecase, is there a way I can exclude images if they under a specified height?
This way all current and possible future headers will be skipped, even though they are wider than the Max Width setting.
Thank you for your help!

When I deactivated the plugin, all images uploaded fine with no error message. Any idea why this happened?

]]>there is a way to specify the minimum size of an image to be uploaded.

]]>I started using imsanity recently since we have a huge uploads folder and we need to bring sizes of original images down. All around we have 16k original images to resize. Unfortunately, when I start the bulk process, at some point it will fail resizing and just stop processing.
We have some big 300dpi files uploaded and the bulk process just won’t proceed at this point. The browser console throws an error 500 from ajax-admin.php but nothing else and i have to stop the bulk. When I try to manually resize the image, it’s the same problem: Error 500, nothing happens until I refresh the admin site.
What can I do here and why will imsanity not just skip the file and tell me that it’s too big or whatever reason is behind it?
]]>Hello there.
Is there any way that, when I want to resize images in bulk, I can choose to start the process in descending/asscendenting order of their upload?
It would help me a lot. And I think others too.
I have somewhere around 40k images at the moment, and when the product feed is updated and new products appear, implicitly new pictures, I could run the mass image resizing program only on approximately the block of images that interest me, that is on the last loaded images, and then to stop it…instead of waiting until it skips 40k images…
Thank you.
