In reply to: [Booking.com Affiliate plugin] Can I use custom fields?I second that request. I have a number of site that would benefit from that approach (the ability to target a specific hotel).

In reply to: [Booking.com Official Search Box] Tracking labelsPer Booking.com instructions to me: one for all sites (though I used different ones before) plug unique labels for sites and or placements.
Pietro,
You can use a plugin like Conditional Widgets. It gives you lots of control over widgets, such as where to show or not to show them.
Jetpack includes a similiar feature.

In reply to: [Simple Footnotes] Use within caption?Answering my own question…
I did find this information on how to implement ‘nested shortcodes.’
It works, but I would like to know whether or not the plugin developer considers this to be a good solution.

In reply to: [Better Delete Revision] This plugin adds an odd menu item: BWL PluginsThanks for fixing this so quickly.
That said, there were questions about these BWL folks as far back as February.
Scary stuff, really. What this has taught me is to take a very close look at each of the plugins I use, and I will continue to do so with each update.

In reply to: BWL Plugins / BestWebLayoutUpdate: I discovered where that menu items comes from.
I deactivated a plugin called Better Delete Revision:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/better-delete-revision/When I did so, the BWL Plugins menu item disappeared. Upon reacitvation, the menu item is back.
One of the authors of Better Delete Revision is BestWebLayout, which on the profile page explains that they have ‘added a menu item’:
https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/bestweblayout/Doesn’t look right to me, so I have now deleted Better Delete Revision.

In reply to: [Free Stock Photos Foter] Stolen Photos@rfnajera Read my initial message on exactly how Foter violates the Creative Common license. They do not attribute in the way specified by me, the owner. That means they violate the license, and thus are stealing my photos — and those of others whose instructions they ignore.
Moreover, the company does not respond to emails regarding the issue. Apparently they hope it will just go away.
Yes, some people may have contacted you to thank you for ‘promoting’ their photos. But most people will not want their creations stolen under the guise of ‘promotion.’ Foter is trying to make money by appropriating other people’s creation.
How would you feel if a company started ‘promoting’ your blog by stealing and repackaging your content?
Was a solution found for this issue? One of my site has 27 sitemaps, 15 of which have the -001-11-30 00:00 last modified date.

In reply to: [Centrora WordPress Security?] Why is whois.domaintools.com blocked?Yes, it does. Thanks!
That said, how are we to know whether or not to whitelist any blocked IPs? Or is is better not to worry about it?

===End Quote===For me the odd thing about the spam that targets the Jetpack contact feature is that it happened on just one site.
I installed Jetpack on several websites, but this one site received a huge amount of spam. Eventually I had to simply turn off Jetpack’s contact form, and use another one (with CAPTCHA) instead.

In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] "Unable to parse" errorMy config file already includes that statement.
I wonder whether the folks who receive spam have Jetpack enabled as well. I never received spam until I started to use Jetpack. Then I suddenly received loads of spam. The Jetpack team said all I needed to do was mark those messages as spam, but my time is more valuable than to click through a few hundred spam messages a day.
The stream of spam stopped once I removed Jetpack.
Indeed, it’s fixed!
Turns out I had to clear the cache at MaxCDN (instead of just clearing the W3 Total Cache).
Thanks Joost. This is very helpful plugin, especially with the updated analysis. It will take me some time, but with the help of your plugin I’m going to work through all my old posts to try and improve them.
