Hi Jack,
I will have a look at the plugin Frontier but in case you have other function.php tweaks I am also still interested in giving that a try as well. Btw, I have also tried to switch all plugins off but that didn’t help either.
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
IngeHi Hank,
thank you very much for your help! I appreciate that. I never realised the difference between front-end posting and back-end posting, so that’s a good one in the first place!
As our website has become quite heavy with plugins because we needed extra functionality, I’m not too keen on adding more plugins especially when it has extra functionality that I don’t need. But I will try Frontier at our testenvironment to find out if I can deactivate everything else besides getting notifications to only admin for new topics. I’ll have to consider all the pros and cons. Thanks again for your help!
Kind regards,
IngeHi Jack,
I have tried your link and also this one but both didn’t trigger the notification.
I tried it by using the child theme name as the parent theme name (and refreshing the page, restarting the browser). But it didn’t work. The maillog didn’t report anything being send either.
Comments to new topics are being send. Comments to new posts also work as a charm, just can’t put my finger on this one. Thanks!Kind regards,
IngeHi Jack,
That’s definately useful and a lot more clear!
Actually it was your theory ?? so I was happy with that as a start to try and figure out what might be going wrong.
As I build a whole new website, I didn’t have a lot of time to figure out bbPress fully. So I just discovered now there isn’t an option for moderation. You can add it by using a plugin but we don’t need that as we moderate afterwards. So topics are already published without moderation. The status WP gives to new topics are ‘opened’ and ‘published’.When I check the emaillog there’s nothing there. When I reply to the topic, I do receive the notification and also see it in the maillog.
Any idea what I can try else? Please let me know if I can give you more information, at this moment I don’t know what information can be of use. Thanks!
Kind regards,
IngeHi Jack,
thank you for the wonderful plugin! It works great for blogpost notifications. My problem is similar: notifications of new bbPress topics aren’t send to administrator. I tried the code in functions.php https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/compatibility/support-themes-front-end-forms/ but that didn’t work. I do think you’re right: we let visitors immediately post their topic/comment and those are checked afterwards by the administrator. So it sounds plausible that BNFW can’t pick up between the status draft, waiting for moderation and published etc.
Do you have any advice what else I can try? Thank you very much for your help!
Kind regards,

In reply to: [AnsPress - Question and answer] Interference comments WordPressThanks for both replies! I’d prefer my WP notifations to work like it normally does, instead of installing another plugin to bypass a bug ??
I actually had to downgrade to version 1.4.3 as the whole page dissapeared after the update. Can I install the 2.0 beta version? Or would you recommend to wait for another alpha update?
Thank you very much for helping out!
These things happen, not to worry!
Thank you for the new update! I’ve also disconnected and reconnected to Google so will now see how it works these days. Hope the error is gone now, we are very hayppy with this plugin and also your great help!
The same thing here. Hope it’s possible to get it fixed. This is a great plugin!
