I just created another account and uploaded another picture. As soon as I posted the image, it was there in my activity stream and looking great.
Immediately upon refreshing the page, it is replaced with a tiny x box until I click it and can view the entire image.

I believe the difference is that your test account uploaded an image URL, while I’m trying to upload images directly – with no luck.
