You probably will need to modify this function and to have a condition checking- if $content has more than 80 words -> then display the_permalink()

May we have some details about this function?
You would need probably to put a condition but without extra details it is a little bit hard to help you

The correct LINK to your website is https://dencats.org no /index must be put after this link or it will of course show you a 404 error page, that’s quite normal because https://dencats.org/index/ doesn’t exist (it is a sub-directory non existent)
Now for your problem do this further tests :
on Firefox : enter https://www.dencats.org : post your result
on Chrome: enter https://www.dencats.org : post your result
on IE : AFTER clearing all the cache > enter https://www.dencats.org : post your result
