Once you assign several projects to a category, then you will see those projects within your specified sections.

In the dashboard, go to All Projects, and pick a project to Edit.
There is a Project Type area where you can Add and assign project types to a category.

I also noticed that your “Wedding” sublink is missing “project-type” in the url. It should be https://yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/project-type/wedding/

You will need to add Custom Links as a sub item to your custom menu.

The url structure for a portfolio category type is https://yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/project-type/project-type-slug/

Change “project-type-slug” to the name of your category. For instance, if your category name is “Illustration” the url will be: https://yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/project-type/illustration/

After you figure out the urls, then you can create the Custom Links and add them as sub items to your custom menu. Kathryn’s links above explain that process in detail.
