This did it

@wpyogi, hehe this is a new one. As mentioned above I have problems calling the current parent page and current page and assign a different color for each of them.

@andrew, well, it’s still concerning a my wordpress theme, so I can’t see why this isn’t relevant?

Initially I was thinking of doing it like this:

}

would that work?
