In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] Divi Error as of 10/15/2024Hi @mach4design & @lolcabanon
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
Thank you both for bringing this to our attention, we have identified the cause of this issue. In our latest updates we release a patch which disabled some of our modules from loading in Divi, as they are not needed and can lead to some performance impact when using the page builder.
Unfortunately, it seems that if the supporting add-ons are not fully up to date, this crash can occur. We had tested this in a controlled environment, but did not experience the same issue, although we can see how this might happen in some cases.
With that said, we will be releasing a priority update to the basic plugin which will handle this more gracefully, and prevent the error from occurring. We expect a patch to become available within the next hour or two.
I’ll update this thread as soon as the update is released.

In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] Pkugin broke – no loner workingHI @donprogramit,
I am sorry to hear that did not help you resolve the issue. We do also offer an alternative to Google which does not require an API key.
This can easily be switched via our settings area under Maps > Settings > General > By changing your Map Engine option from Google Maps to OpenLayers instead. This uses OpenLayers which does not require any API keys to get started.

In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] Pkugin broke – no loner workingHi @donprogramit,
Thank you for getting in touch. We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your map.
I’ve run a test on the site and I can see an issue with your Google Maps API key, regarding your referrers. More specifically, the following error is being reported by Google:
- JavaScript API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError
We do have documentation which walks over the process of setting up your referrer restrictions: https://docs.wpgmaps.com/protecting-your-google-maps-api-key-from-unauthorized-use-setting-up-website-restrictions-http-referrers
This applies specifically if you control and manage your API key yourself.

In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] Not answering support ticketsHi @perth15,
I am sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting in touch. I checked our system and we have 3 tickets which I believe are linked to your site (mentioned on your www.ads-software.com profile).
We have replied to each of these, and in most cases they do appear to be resolved. To overcome this, I have reached out to you directly via my personal email address (we are not allowed to share email addresses here).
Please check your email for an email with my name attached, and a reference to this thread within the content of that email.
Hopefully we can make direct contact with you soon and get any issues you might be having resolved.
Hi @jai6358
Thank you for confirming, I’ve just tested your example address in one of my development environments and it was added as expected. In my case, I am using the Google Maps API, and I suspect you may be using our Open Layers mapping option instead.
You can confirm this by navigating to Maps > Settings > General > And checking the setting labelled “Maps Engine“.
Each engine uses a different address lookup/search system. Unfortunately, the accuracy of each is quite different meaning that Google may be better at looking up more precise locations, for example locations with door/unit numbers.
We do not control this directly, as it is managed and handled by the addresses that each service knows of, within it’s own database.
If you would like to lookup more precise/complex addresses/location you may need to consider switching to the Google Maps engine, or alternatively, simplify your addresses for the Open Layers engine instead.
Alternatively, you can right click at the exact location to use the lat/lng coordinate for each location instead.

In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] No data available in tableHi @mapodesign84,
Thank you for getting in touch. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your map list. Based on the information provided it sounds like something may have gone wrong during the initial installation as you should have a map automatically setup on your side after activation.
Would you be open to getting in touch with us on our website so that we can work over some more advanced debugging steps with you to get this resolved as soon as possible?
We are eager to get this resolved for you as soon as possible.
Hi @jai6358,
Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble adding markers to your map.
Can I ask you to confirm what address you are trying to add so that I can run a few tests on my side?
Fantastic, really glad to hear that helped! ??
Hi @sbservices,
Thank you for confirming, that is quite strange, but it is possible you are missing one of our required services.
We require the following services:
- Google Maps JavaScript API
- Google Maps Geocoding API
- Google Maps Places API
- Google Maps Directions API
Looking at your site, I believe you may be missing the Places or Geocoding services as both of these are used during the creation of markers within the map.
Could you confirm that these are all enabled?

In reply to: [WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)] Markers not displaying on front endHey @ttaylor222
Thank you for reaching out, we do appreciate your time. I noticed you also opened a support ticket on our website, where I have already replied with a potential solution.
As the issue directly relates to our Pro add-on, and we are not allowed to discuss or assist with any premium support here on these threads, as per the www.ads-software.com guidelines (reserving these threads for support of out basic plugin), I will continue to assist you via email.
As mentioned, I have replied with a potential solution, which should resolve the issue. I look forward to hearing back from you and getting this sorted.
Please note: As the issue relates to our Pro add-on, I will be marking this thread as resolved, as these forums are specifically focused on supporting our basic plugin.
Hi @sbservices,
Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time.
Based on the information you’ve provided it sounds like you have a referrer restriction in place on your API key which is specifically set up for the frontend of the website, instead of the entire website. This means instead of using a wildcard in your restriction (*) you may have pasted the full URL for the frontend.
We have some documentation explaining how to correctly set up the referrer restriction so that it covers all usage across the site here: https://docs.wpgmaps.com/protecting-your-google-maps-api-key-from-unauthorized-use-setting-up-website-restrictions-http-referrers
For your site, these would be set up as:
*conscious-kitchens.com/*
*.conscious-kitchens.com/*The * symbols here allow the URL to change, to any page within your site, while still allowing the referrer to validate as expected.
Hi @awjensen,
Thank you for reaching out, we do appreciate your time. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the download, we don’t control file delivery from our side, instead the files are hosted by www.ads-software.com and delivered accordingly.
With that said, I’d like to know a bit more about this, as I may be able to help. Are you attempting to install the plugin directly from within your site (Plugins > Add new > Search > Install), or are you trying to download the files via the download page on the repository?
Hi @rose18,
Thank you for getting back to me, I do appreciate it.
That is quite strange as this same code has been used on many sites (including our own development sites) and works without issue. I suspect there may be some additional layer of functionality preventing our code from taking affect.
Unfortunately we aren’t allowed to discuss any Premium features/questions via these threads, as per the www.ads-software.com guidelines.
Would you mind opening a support ticket on our website instead so that someone from my team can work more closely with you on this to get it sorted?
Hi @rose18,
Thank you for getting in touch, we do appreciate your time.
As all of the mentioned dependencies are non-essential (not core) modules, you only need to dequeue these using the ‘wpgooglemaps_hook_user_js_after_core’ hook, I’ve prepared a specific code block for you:
function wpgmza_dequeue_additional_dependencies(){
wp_dequeue_style('featherlight');
wp_dequeue_script('featherlight');
wp_dequeue_style('wpgmaps_datatables_responsive-style');
wp_dequeue_script('wpgmza_canvas_layer_options');
wp_dequeue_script('wpgmza_canvas_layer');
wp_dequeue_script('polyline');
}
add_action('wpgooglemaps_hook_user_js_after_core', 'wpgmza_dequeue_additional_dependencies', 9999);This has been tested on my side and works as expected. If it is not working on your side, I’d need to know a bit more about how you’re adding this PHP to your site?
We recommend adding it to the functions.php file of your child theme, to ensure it loads correctly to dequeue these assets.
