There’s plenty of security people have written in length about the “Security through Obscurity” issue. One of the most enlightened chaps on the planet is Bruce Schneier, and he has this to say.

Summary: if you feel it will help, do it, but don’t confuse obscurity with security.

If you’re using StatTraq, then the MostWanted plugin does part of what your after (lists the most popular posts). It uses StatTraq usage tables in order to work out post popularity.

if you’re using StatTraq, then the MostWanted plugin will probably do what you need.

Yes – tried firefox on other machine – same result.
Also tried IE on original machine – same result.

The login screen shows again.

hi podz, thanks for the quick respone.
i checked these and they both point to the correct (new) location of “https://boakes.org”. (after i copied the files from the old location to the site root I went through the options screen and updated these values, before doing the rm -r * on the wordpress directory content) .
checking the SQL server with MyCC confirms that this change was successful.
so, still no login. Any suggestions of where to look next?
