In reply to: [Hello Elementor] Hover color for menu linksFigured out my own question! Here’s the solution in case anyone is asking the same thing. No, you do not need to have Elementor Pro to add this. You can add it via Appearance > Customize. Worked great!

In reply to: [Hello Elementor] Hover color for menu linksDid a little digging on this. Am I right that you can only add custom CSS with Elementor Pro?

In reply to: [Hello Elementor] Hover color for menu linksAh, ok. Thanks for that pointer. So, this sort of thing can only be done with custom CSS, then?
I’m very experienced with CSS and I’ve used custom CSS on other WP theming platforms but not Elementor/Hello. Would you be able to point me to where this gets added?
Many thanks!

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] Woocommerce Square not workingYou have to either get your host to enable this setting in PHP for your site (or do this yourself if you manage the server) or roll back to the previous version of the plug-in.
I first rolled back to 3.3 and that got things working again. Then I put a ticket into my host who quickly enabled opcache on my site. Then I updated the plug-in again to 3.4 and it’s working now.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] site checkout disabled after update@maxitup – thanks! I figured out how to roll back to earlier version a few minutes after I asked the question. ??

In reply to: [WooCommerce Square] site checkout disabled after updateHow were you able to roll back to the previous version? Same thing happened to me. Put a ticket into my hosting company and hopefully they’ll be able to enable this but in the meantime, I’m kinda dead in the water!
So, you’re saying that I should just use Google’s service directly manually rather than trying to get the plug-in to work? I thought the whole idea was to use the results of the Pagespeed test to make suggestions on how best to tweak the wordpress settings. The Google pagespeed results don’t make any sense to me in terms of what I should do in wordPress.
The whole reason I upgraded my hosting plan was to be able to use this plug-in to improve my site’s performance. So, far the hosting upgrade hasn’t helped me at all. Very disappointed.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Plug-in for custom data fieldAccording to your plug-in’s description it only allows “Add custom fields to Registration form and Checkout page”
I am not looking to add fields to either of these areas but to the product page.
Since I’ve not had good success with paying for something and then hoping for a refund when it does do what I need, I think I’ll pass on this solution.
I turned off the setting that discourages search engines and still get the message: Pagespeed was unable to connect to this WordPress site. Please check your site configuration.
Do I have to sign up for an account with Pagespeed? When I check my site URL directly on PageSpeed Insights, I have no problem seeing the tests there.
I’m unclear on what needs to be configured and where.
the Google Pagespeed API is unable to reach your site</
Would that be because my site is currently set to discourage search engines? The site isn’t public yet – I’m still building it, so not sure I want change that.
Well, my site has now been upgraded to a Turbo server and still the utilities in the plug-in don’t seem to do anything except spin.
I guess I’ll just uninstall this plug-in since it doesn’t so anything as far as I can tell.
I discovered after posting this that my A2 account is not yet migrated to Turbo hosting. I’m guessing that may be the reason the plug-in is not working as expected. I will re-try after the migration is completed.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Plug-in for custom data fieldThanks, I will give that a try.
I’m not clear on whether you are saying that data field (as opposed to a field that allows customer to make some choices) cannot be added with your plug-in or whether you are saying that the custom data field cannot be added in the location I mentioned (near the product name). Can you clarify this?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Sub categories on Category PageI think I’ve solved this issue. I suspected it might have something to do with my using the Genesis Framework. In poking around a bit under the theme settings, I noticed a Genesis plugin called “Genesis Connect for WooCommerce.” So I installed and activated that now, finally my sub-categories appear as expected.
Just adding this here in case anyone else runs into this issue with Genesis & WooCommerce.
