In reply to: Spam postsHi togitron.
Still waiting for someone to answer with a solution. I am still going through the posts manually and you know how irritating that is!
Hopefully an answer to our problem will appear in here soon.

In reply to: Spam postsHi MikeLev, I am STILL having this problem and hope to have some guidance as to how to remedy it in this forum soon. I am still deleting bogus “pending” posts on a daily basis to try to keep it in check! It is a continuing pain.
Anyone?
Help!
ESP.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Spam postsThis spam is appearing in the area “posts”. When I go to post a new blog post, I have to delete 20-30 “pending posts” that are not mine…needless to say this is a real pain. This is not comment spam, more like posting spam!
akismet is running.
Please help. Thanks for this…turned out it was a sidebar link that was causing the problem pop-up…I removed it, all is fine again.

In reply to: Home page formatting issueHi esmi…It is these template files I cannot seem to locate.
would they be in:
custom_functions.php

In reply to: Home page formatting issueThanks for this tip Terry I can now see where the errors are…but where do I go to fix the code?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Home page formatting issueI have no idea where to find the location of the offending template files in my directory based on the information validator is giving me for example here is the first error of the rather long list:
document type does not allow element X here
The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements — such as a “style” element in the “body” section instead of inside “head” — or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).
One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML’s rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML’s “self-closing” tags for “meta” and “link” in the “head” section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the “head” section and the beginning of the “body” section (where “link” and “meta” are not allowed; hence the reported error).
* Line 1276, column 23: document type does not allow element “style” here
<style type=”text/css”>
**************************
Where would I find line 1276? to fix it?

In reply to: Fixing validation errorsThe problem only exists on my ‘home’ page…click on any other page in my site and all is well. Does this give you any ideas as to the culprit files?
So how do I find out what code I need to change in the header.php file? That is how do I get the validator to check this header?
Thanks ESP.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Fixing validation errorsHi ambrosite.
I am sorry, but I am still having a hard time understanding “where” I make these fixes. What file am I supposed to be editing? My custom CSS? php? Please expand.
Thanks.

In reply to: Home page formatting issueHi esmi,
It appears that I have 400 validation errors! I am confused, do I have to manually go in and make all of these changes? And what am I supposed to be changing? My custom CSS?
OR
I have a (Cleaned-up Source Listing with “Tidy”) code, can I add this code to fix these errors? And if so where do I add this?
Never had anything like this happen before!
Ahhh!

In reply to: Increasing the visibility of my blog-reply namesHi again jkovis.
Thanks!…perhaps you could help me with this too? When I click on an individual post the title and color of the title of that page changes to a darker gray? How do I change this? Also the “18” text (below) on that page is not very visible how do I change the color of this also?
Can you tell I am not up on code!
Really appreciate all your help with this.
