If you view the source of your page, and then search for alt="" you should find it (buried!) in the HTML code. (Command-F or Ctrl-F is super-helpful here.)

It looks like in this case, both empty alt tags are related to your Create recipe card — looks like they’re for hidden Pinterest images. If that’s the case, having an empty alt tag is correct, since you would want a screen reader to ignore it anyway.

So if all 675 empty tags are coming from this, I think you’re just fine.

It seems the developer is not particularly responsive in the forums here, so I’ll jump in and see if I can help out.

When you publish the revision, it’s supposed to keep the original URL (it should replace the draft’s temporary URL with the original post’s URL).

But while you’re editing the draft, it will show a different URL for the draft.

Have you actually published a revision yet? If so, did it correctly keep the old URL? Or did it actually change the URL?

I have not tested it again since I posted this about five months ago — but the plugin also has not been updated since. So as far as I know, it still does not work with PHP 7.2, and the plugin seems to have been abandoned.

Unfortunately I haven’t found another way (other than manually editing the HTML on each link)…apparently it’s actually extremely difficult to implement this with the block editor.

Honestly, I stopped looking for a solution when I decided to recommend the Classic Editor plugin to all of my clients.

I’m thinking that if the files aren’t malicious, maybe I should just mark them as “Fixed” so they can stay there and the scanner will stop bugging me. Seems like that’s safer than deleting them?
