In reply to: [Event Organiser] Show states on venuesI read (somewhere) that a state field will be in version 1.7
Thanks I will look into these solutions. I have the editor off but can still post markup.

In reply to: conditional IE stylesheetI’m sure you have tried this but…empty the IE cache and refresh and see if you can see the changes then. I know this gets me sometimes. Again just checking, not trying to insult.

In reply to: wp-weather as widget – remove arrows?Found this… in your theme260/style.css
(line 219)
.right .widget ul li {
background-image: url(images/arrow_1.gif);
}
You can take out the arrow here. But it will remove all of the arrows keep in mind. Or look for the css in the plug-in folder and change it (you will lose the changes when you update the plug-in). They are called by the theme, so I’m not 100% on how to remove just the one from the weather plug-in.

In reply to: HELP: Spam Links In all My Posts, how the hell?2.0.11 is a real old version of WP. I know they have fixed lots of security holes from then to the current 2.3.3 version. Maybe an upgrade will help for the future…
I’m sure you have to find all the posts and comments that hold these links and edit them out.
It has nothing to do with your theme files in away way, as far as I know.

In reply to: How Do I Add A Page TemplateHere is a helpful link…
Where you can find all sorts of things out about templates.
I think you are looking for this, just add it to the very top of your new template page (change the name) and it will show up in the page template list when creating new pages.
<?php /* Template Name: YOUR TEMPLATE NAME HERE */ ?>
Hope that helps…

In reply to: MySQL 4 to MySQL 5 upgradeAnybody have any experiences upgrading MySQL with a WP site?
Where there any problems? I don’t want to mess up the little DB I have, so any opinions will be helpful.I hope that I did not piss off any of “those who help” with my comments in a weekend reply to a post…?!? (If so please reread it).
Or maybe I should do more searching…
Thanks!

In reply to: STOP PACKAGING UPDATES WITH THE DEFAULT THEME“I” think that maybe if you suggest to the “devs” to make an upgrade package available, you may find that more beneficial for you and us all. This forum is not the most friendly place IMO (esp: for new users (no implication to anyone) with old/dumb/used to death/well documented Q’s (I don’t blame all who help either)), and shouting posts like this just get us all going (warranted/needed), right?
Maybe there is a reason that there is no upgrade package? I don’t know but maybe it would help the process.

In reply to: STOP PACKAGING UPDATES WITH THE DEFAULT THEMESticky: WORDPRESS 2.3.3 IS AVAILABLE!!!!
The #2 post has this…
also, if you want just the changed files, in a zip ..Ive made a zip available on my site –whooami
and
I was blaming the developers for poorly designing the upgrade process which led to my theme’s destruction.
I have not seen any upgrade process (eg: an upgreade only file version), just clear instructions on how to upgrade.
But you can not argue with the upgrade instructions…
