Boohooo!!! I’ve been trying to fix this ever since the latest “better” version came out and I still haven’t been able to get alt-text captions under the thumbs.

I’ve even tried deleting all my galleries, removing the folders, removing the plugin, dropping the database tables for ngg and reinstalling the whole lot with no luck. I run an organisation that re-homes lost and abused animals, and it’s heavily reliant on the galleries. This is a HUGE problem for me. PLEASE help (I don’t know CSS or PHP. Which is why I use a plug-in instead of hard-coding stuff.

If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!!

I don’t have any links, and I don’t seem to have a ‘caption’ template. Is this available as a separate download?

As I’ve posted elsewhere, there are LOADS of people asking this question all over the show, and so far nobody seems to have answered it. I’m hving same problem!

I’ve seen this question all over the show and nobody seems to have answered it. I’m having similar problem in that the piture ID doesn’t show up at all in the thumbnails page.

The problem started when they changed the default viewer to Shutter (instead of Thickbox). Please, someone help! How do you get the pic name to display under the thumbnails?

I have exactly the same problem, only here’s thing…

I run two sites, with the same hosting provider. One site is physically located in South Africa and the other in Germany (due to bandwidth requirements).

On the one in South Africa, auto-upgrade of plug-ins and WordPress (2.7) works fine, but on the one in Germany, it never has. I am asked for ftp details and when I put them in, it says “Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)”

If this is something the host is doing, what do I need to tell them to make them stop! ?? (Or what setting needs to be changed?)

Pretty sure I did that, but can’t remember for certain. Thanks for the advice. I’ll try it next upgrade.

This is a HUGE problem for me. I sort my images into folders and upload them manually via FTP, as it suits me better to do it this way and makes backing up images from certain folder easy.

I know that you can use the flash uploader to point at the location of the uploaded images, but it’s slower to do, you have insert the image before you can modify it’s basic properties like border and alignment, and the text entry box doesn’t ‘remember’ what’s been typed in previously – something that the old one used to do, and which became a handy feature.

PLEASE bring back the old button and let us decide which one we want to use!
