Yes, everything is stored in the server. I didn’t have problem uploading before. Only these 2 days. Tried from 2 different laptops, still the same.

But that would display those categories as my menu. What I wanted is to display a menu for the category page with sub-menu as the list of categories.

For example, I have a page name “Read Me” set as a menu, when someone hover on it, it will display a list of my selected categories. And if someone click on “Read Me”, it will display the page with the selected categories listed.

I hope I am clear with my question now ??

    Hi Chandan,

    Thanks for the reply!

However it didn’t work for me as when I imported, they became duplicate tables with 2 different prefixes. So my only solutions was to do a fresh install and use back the same prefix. And later change them to another one for security purposes.

    Now it’s working fine ??

keesiemeijer, you were right! but i think it’s fixed now (and i don’t know how! haha)

btw it looks good now although some images don’t load up cos of the WP folder I used to have. So i had to manually rename them (cos I don’t know how else) and I will take some time for this. ??

Planning to change my theme soon too. Getting bored with this one :p

Thanks again keesiemeijer for the great support!

Ok guys, here’s what i did:

    – copied all files & folders from a fresh WordPress install (downloaded from here) into the /wp folder except the wp-content
    – edited the wp-config.php to match the settings as per my Cpanel
    – copied the “theme” & “plugins” folders into my wp-content
    – deleted the old /WP folder so it wont get confused
    – next when i ran the site, it asked me to update the database, everything looks good at this point
    – but now when i tried login into the wp-admin, the page won’t load up again! and the URL keeps showing: https://edahani.com/edahani.com/wp/wp-login.php —> how do i fix this?
    – and when i tried the WordPress site (without login), it says “You 404’d it. Gnarly, dude.” (Page Not Found). but some of the menu is there, but no posts.

    ??

spot on – select a new database to import your backup

You mean create an empty database from phpmyadmin? How do i connect this new database to my WordPress site then? Specify in the Cpanel? Will this affect the current one then?

    (@edahani)

Oh dear.. my mistake! Luckily I have backup of the new wp-content that I almost overwritten! haha.. Ok now I have re-uploaded the backup wp-content and currently uploading all other files & folders to /wp

I have also added the lines as you advised into the wp-config.php

Now I’m still wondering why this came out when i tried to go to wp-login page: https://edahani.com/edahani.com/wp/wp-login.php

It’s like there’s another edahani.com folder within the root folder, which i didn’t install. i noticed this after i have upgraded the database (after i have imported the backup database into the current one)

    Any idea?

    (@edahani)

    my site URL is https://www.edahani.com/wp

Previously I used the capital letters WP to install the WordPress site (so it was edahani.com/WP) but on the new hosting I am using small letters. I have upgraded the database (earlier I have to manually typed the small letters instead of using the cache version which was WP, and it has requested me to upgrade the database). I have also just cleared my cache, just to be sure.

Now when I tried reloading the site, it keeps loading this page: https://edahani.com/edahani.com/wp/wp-login.php , which turns to be 404 Not Found.

I am also currently uploading (vis FTP) the folder wp-content as you suggested. Will keep you guys posted on the outcome ??

Thanks a lot for your patience & guidance! Appreciate much.

ops i didn’t! haha no wonder!

Ok now I’ve chosen the database to be imported into, and it was successful. Now problem is, the site doesn’t show anything at all. Not even when I tried loading the admin page.

    (@edahani)

Tried that and I got an error:

    Error

    SQL query:

    — Table structure for table wp_cf7dbplugin_submits

    DROP TABLE IF EXISTS wp_cf7dbplugin_submits ;

    MySQL said: Documentation

yes i’m sure it’s there. there’s a folder named “mysql” and “mysql-timestamps” within the backup files.

but now how do i copy that to my current hosting? couldn’t seem to find a place to do that :p
