In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] MLA v2.61 & Profile BuilderI do understand the difficulty of supporting a product when a number of players are on the field at the same time. I have respect for MLA and the time and effort you have put into it. If I can be of any help, let me know. Ed G.

In reply to: [Media Library Assistant] MLA v2.61 & Profile BuilderDavid, I’m using Profile Builder Pro, https://www.cozmoslabs.com/wordpress-profile-builder/ as well as their Custom Profile Menus Add-On. Cozmolabs seems pretty professional to me, I’ve corresponded with their Support people in the past. I have spoken with Georgian Cocora, [email protected]. Both their [wppb-register] and [wppb-edit-profile] shortcodes failed after MLA v2.61 update was installed.
I’m using a dozen other plugins as well. I deactivated all of them, then started to reactivate them individually. After PB I reactivated MLA first since the update was so recent. When I saw the results, I didn’t bother testing the rest of them.
Hope that helps. Thanks David.
You are one silver-tongued devil, Jeff. If you think you have professional docs, then by golly, it must be so! [laughs up sleeve]

In reply to: [MediaPress] Misleading DescriptionThank you Brajesh for your response.
Certainly something in my setup is not what MP wants to see. Whatever it is, my other plugins aren’t having any problems. Profile Builder and wpForo both are well integrated with the WP user role system, and are working properly with no issues.
We could say that there is nothing really “wrong” with MP, but it does seem to have certain unique requirements that are not well documented. And working with no QA or Tech Docs people, as independent developers do, can have consequences. IMHO, MP has BP in its blood and can’t really get rid of it.
Thanks for taking your time to discuss it.

In reply to: [MediaPress] Misleading DescriptionWell, it works. Sort of. There seem to be permission issues. Possibly there is something fundamental I don’t understand about WP permissions. I make all the users Author.
First, [mpp-create-gallery] gives the user authority to upload to any existing gallery regardless of who the creator of the gallery was, and regardless if the gallery is marked Public or Logged In Users Only, as if the user was an admin. It even allows the user to select galleries that existed at one time but which have been deleted. I wonder if those old gallery names are still in the database. ??
When I changed all the galleries from Public to Logged In Users Only, all of them disappeared from the sitewide display. I’ve only been able to get the sitewide display to work by setting all galleries to Public. My site is only open to logged in users, but even the admin can’t see the sitewide unless it’s Public.
FYI, a few weeks back I did run MP with BP, and everything worked as it was intended. Removing BP also removed some of MP’s basic functions. And that is exactly what I meant when I wrote “Misleading Description.” Your description says MP works with WP.
I took the time to write this because, basically, I like the plugin. Thanks.

In reply to: [MediaPress] Misleading DescriptionIt might be easier to just post the shortcode here on this thread. Then you wouldn’t need to edit your docs. If you do, I’ll test it for you and reply here.

In reply to: [MediaPress] Misleading DescriptionIf there is a shortcode that will allow a user to create his own gallery and upload to it, and allow the new gallery to appear on the sitewide display, I’d try it if I had it. I’ve examined the shortcode list on your web site many times, and it’s not there.

In reply to: [MediaPress] Galleries not visibleBrajesh, thank you.
Your plugin does what nobody else’s does. I like it and I want to use it.
Sometimes everything works fine. Other times not. It seems to be very sensitive to other plugin settings. I never know what I did when it breaks.
Right now, galleries work fine in the profile view. Galleries are discovered, and they display properly. The sitewide view cannot find any galleries. A day ago it was the opposite. 3 days ago all was fine. If you want to look at it, I will give you a login.
Two things I wish MediaPress did:
1. I wish it had a “Reset all to default” button. (BP needs the same button)
2. I wish MP worked with Ultimate Member. Thanks,

In reply to: [MediaPress] Galleries not visibleI too am now struggling with “There are no galleries available!” At first, galleries displayed properly in sitewide, but gave the error message in the profile. I went to All Galleries, checked all the settings and re-saved each gallery. This fixed the profile gallery display. But now, the error message appears in sitewide.
In the beginning, all worked well. Then, settings I changed in other plugins began to affect MediaPress. Now I’m just hacking. A hack will work one minute but not the next.

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Would have been swell if it workedI expect I’ll be able to fix things by editing the SQL database. I’ll end up taking a whole day to do what I should have been able to do in half an hour, because it was too much trouble for you to provide decent documentation. Aside from that, everything is great.

In reply to: [Frontier Post] Only One Issue…OK then, maybe you could tell be exactly what theme and plugins were active when you wrote this program, so I could try to duplicate your results.
Thanks.
