It has taken two days to send 210 out of 444 emails! This is total rubbish, there is no way that I would pay for your pro services, you are clearly just rip off merchants who have generated fake reviews to draw people in!!

Post don’t appear when published on the site on a regular basis, sometime (rarely) a Mastodon post will appear, not long after they are posted on the website, sometimes not at all.

I spent over an hour today trying to get things to appear in the Mastodon feed and nothing was happening. Then an hour later there was a rush of posts, which made it look like spamming the feed.

As I say, it is nice when it works, but too often it doesn’t work reliably ??

It is really flaky, sometime post don’t get sent to the Mastodon feed and sometimes they do.

I don’t have the time or technical knowledge to be a beta tester.

I have only had the error message with TablePress and Friends plugins activated, and then only the once.

It hasn’t really caused any great problems, but I reported it because I thought you should know, in case it caused problems for others. I should really report it to the Friends plugin developers as well.

Issue fixed

On further investigation, I have found that this is an issue which is effecting new users who don’t currently have a user account.

The problem has now been resolved, it turned out that GoDaddy had messed up the implementation of the SSL certificate.

I have now replaced the old SSL certificate with a Let’s Encrypt cert which expires on the 28 December 2021, so it is definitely valid, but the issue continues.

The SSL certificate is renewed annually, and is currently valid, so why should it need bringing forward?

The problem started this morning, and I hadn’t made any recent changes.

In my case, I have a pre-existing iThemes Security Pro installation, although I am now finding Cerber to be more effective at protecting against spam bots.
