Is there any chance of anybody helping me out? I’ve had the same problem, basically unable to access the admin panel. I didn’t make the website, a friend did and he’s not been very helpful. I contacted the host who advised me that i needed to rename the maintenance file to maintenance.txt. I had my friend do this for me and it still doesn’t work. I’m still getting a blank page when trying to log in. I’m at the end of my tether with this as i really need to update my site and so far nobody has been able to help me. Would really appreaciate a helping hand from one of you guys!

I have exactly the same problem and frustratingly do not understand a word of your solution. Basically cannot Access my admin page. Fed up.

I did click on the update link but I’m only trying to access the control panel through my browser. I cant type in my username and password and then I get a blank page. It did briefly say that the wordpress was updating its servers (i think) but now its just a blank page. Really frustrating!
I’ve tried clearing cookies and cache and tried in firefox (im using safari)
I’ve deleated my wordpress folder and downloaded it again from scratch but I can’t see how this would affect as I’m not trying to use the sofware!
