In reply to: Max comment lengthI’m using Semiologic 2.5.4. After those comments, the sidebar disapperared. I have removed those 2 comments, and the sidebar came back…I made a cut and paste of them on Word: a total of 56 pages, Verdana 10 points. Actually, something very similar to a book chapter…!

In reply to: Advanced cache errorI had wp-cache active, but no significant improvement in access times, that’s why I suspect several plugins may be potentially harmful, for the site and the hosting provider, in terms of database stress…

In reply to: [NEW PLUGIN] Democracy AJAX PollHello, I’m using Semiologic 2.5.2. I installed Democracy Alpha4. Apparently, everything was working fine, but when I cast a vote, I get a blank screen with the following error message:
Hello! The page /&jal_no_js=true you requested is not available
Any suggestions?

In reply to: Slow access to wp-adminI’m using Bad Behaviour 1.1.4. I also noticed that accessing wp-admin via the “edit” function of a post makes the loading of the dashboard extremely quick, whereas accessing to it via the “site admin” link on the sidebar makes the access extremely slow.

In reply to: Slow access to wp-adminThanks macmanx, I’m currently using WP 1.5: I’m experiencing this slowdown after installing Bad Behaviour (the only change to my installed plugins); but I’m not sure this is the real cause. Recently I had some troubles with my hosting provider, in terms of sudden downtimes. I wrote about it in another post…

In reply to: Opinion on WP recommended host?Sorry for any potential OT, but I would like to get an opinion about Doorhost.net. I’ve been with them since january. Apparently everything worked fine, but since april, they are driving me crazy. Ongoing downtime. At first they said that the problem was with a tmp directory of theirs, filling up and causing crashes to the Apache server; then they said that the problem was fixed, but I’m still experiencing sudden downtimes. Now they say that it could be a d.o.s attack, and so on. What do you think about them? Am I just unlucky or is there anything else? Thanks.
