In reply to: 90% of comments always held in moderation (random)Great! Also, I did some more testing, and FWIW smilies don’t *always* trigger the moderation like I originally said, but there’s definitely a relation.

In reply to: 90% of comments always held in moderation (random)YES!!! That’s it!!! I’ve been having a similar problem that’s been driving me crazy. Even though I have moderation off, *one* user’s comments always gets moderated. It’s because he’s the only one that uses smileys! I just did some testing that that did it. Comments with smileys are moderated!
Now, is this a bug or feature? Is there a fix or workaround?

In reply to: conditional IE stylesheetNevermind! I had an unclosed comment in my IE css. Duh. Thanks for the help so far!

In reply to: conditional IE stylesheetNightgunner5: I just tried it and it didn’t work. As far as I can tell, the problem is IE isn’t even loading the ie-specific css file.
echoca: I have emptied the cache and it didn’t help. This gets me sometimes too, so I’ve actually done it several times.
Thanks for the responses so far! If it helps, the web site in question is https://www.ramenramenramen.net
The only difference now (for testing) is that non-IE browsers will see a horizontal orange bar behind the top menu choices (home, about, contact, etc) while IE browsers should show a white bar instead of orange.

In reply to: WordPress 2.3 and Bluehost problemJust to be complete, the problem/fix *is* related to the Gregarious plugin and dealt with here.

In reply to: WordPress 2.3 and Bluehost problemThanks shadow! That wasn’t it, as my blogs all use different themes and they were working before. But that lead me to check out plugins, which I should’ve done first. I’ve tracked it down to some weirdness with the Gregarious plugin. I’ll ask over on that forum instead.

In reply to: Lightbox 2.0 & mozilla compatibilityHmm…I triplechecked and I only have one copy of lightbox. I even deactivated it, completely deleted the lightbox dir, redownloaded lightbox and reinstalled from scratch. When I deactivate the lightbox plugin, all mention of lightbox disappears from my headers, so I’m fairly sure the problem has nothing to do with anything in any of the template files. I just googled around and checked other web sites using WordPress and the lightbox plugin, and to my untrained eyes, the headers all look the same as mine.
Any other avenues I can explore to fix this?

In reply to: Lightbox 2.0 & mozilla compatibilityjohnpiercy: thanks for the link. I tried a few things from that link but they didn’t seem to have any effect.
azaozz: thanks for the note. It looks like the Prototype.js is part of the lightbox plugin. I disabled the lightbox plugin saw that mention of prototype.js disappeared. I also removed all the “3rd party” js from the template temporarily but the problem is still there.
I was thinking this is more of a CSS issue than a plugin issue, since lightbox worked fine in the past, and the only thing I can think of that’s changed in the past few months is I’ve upgraded Firefox and Camino.

In reply to: Lightbox 2.0 & mozilla compatibilityShoot, sorry, that didn’t get quoted right. Here’s the text from that example:
<a href='/wp-images/takaraya1.jpg' rel='lightbox[Takaraya]' title='Does this look like the entrance to ramen heaven?'><img src='/wp-images/takaraya1sm.jpg' alt='Takaraya Ramen' /></a><a href='/wp-images/takaraya6.jpg' rel='lightbox[Takaraya]' title='They offer 4 different kinds of ramen!'><img src='/wp-images/takaraya6sm.jpg' alt='Takaraya Ramen' /></a><a href='/wp-images/takaraya2.jpg' rel='lightbox[Takaraya]' title='Hmm...could Hello Kitty bowls be a sign of a good ramen house?'><img src='/wp-images/takaraya2sm.jpg' alt='Takaraya Ramen' /></a> wife: Do you know there's a really good ramen place in Orange County that we haven't tried? me: excuse me?

In reply to: Lightbox 2.0 & mozilla compatibilityThanks! I’m not quite sure what you mean though. I don’t have any <p> tags in my post. Below is the actual text I have in my example post above. Are you saying I should add something in the *post* or in the template? (Sorry, my knowledge of css is based more on “trial and error)
<img src=’/wp-images/takaraya1sm.jpg’ alt=’Takaraya Ramen’ /><img src=’/wp-images/takaraya6sm.jpg’ alt=’Takaraya Ramen’ /><img src=’/wp-images/takaraya2sm.jpg’ alt=’Takaraya Ramen’ />

In reply to: posts show “no comments” even when there are commentsWow…that was such a quick reply it’s scary. Thanks HandySolo. I did have a slightly older version of Spam Karma 2, but I just updated to the final version, and it’s still doing the same thing. Anything else I can check?
