Hi Ben!

I checked the site on Firefox and the icons did show up! Which made me wonder if it was an adblock extension on Chrome that was the culprit, and sure enough it turned out to be the Adblock Plus extension that was causing the icons to disappear. As soon as I disabled it, the icons reappeared. Whew. Thanks so much for the incredible theme and for your time!

I’ve actually decided not to use sidenotes on my blog, so I’ll mark this topic resolved.

Oh, that explains a lot. The HTML doesn’t display in Annie footnote popups, but AFAIK Tippy itself is working fine. (I didn’t see anything amiss when I tried Tippy with Annie deactivated) For some reason I thought I was able to do text formatting and line breaks in earlier versions of Annie popups, but I’m obviously mis-remembering that. I must be remembering the formatting in the Annie footnotes at the bottom of the entry.

So, please regard this as a feature request rather than a support issue, and thank you for your time!

(I should note that Tippy actually works OK by itself, but the addition of Annie causes the HTML to no longer function.)
