In reply to: Erasing ALL Personal Data before sharing with 3rd partyAs mentioned in the OP, I am talking about a staging site, not my original site.
So I keep my original site with all my data, create a staging site, and want to wipe the staging site clean. Whomever has admin access to the staging site can see all functionality but databases of users/orders are gone.
I have done it before manually but it is slow. I can pay my webadmin to do this faster, but still not desirable every time there is a problem with woocommerce or any of my many paid plugins to pay someone to create a clean staging site.
I am hoping that someone else who has done this can respond to this post.
If anyone has a suggestion HOW to do this I would appreciate it. If you don’t know of a solution to this problem, then no need to respond. Thank you.

I was asking for help with erasing all personal data from my site, wiping it clean, but keeping all site functionality.
I was giving a use case for why I want it, but for some reason it seems like the responses except for Samuel O focus not on the issue I asked for help about, but on what my use case is.
So starting over, forgetting my use case:
Is there a way to erase all personal data from my site while still keeping all site functionality.
Samuel O had a suggestion but that would not work for me because with user role limited, all site functionality is not available to the person logged in. I need someone to be able to login as admin see the whole site, but not be able to access any customer data. Databases would need to be wiped clean too of that information, not just made inaccessible.

They immediately asked for admin access to see why my search results aren’t as expected. This is the normal standard when contacting a plugin support directly.

Or Maybe not, I don’t know how to use FTP.

Yes, I am using the Setup Wizard in Post SMTP to import from WP SMTP, that is the option on the first page of the setup wizard. Screenshot below.
The problem is I can’t find my key from 3 years ago when I set this up, and it’s not visible in WP SMTP just dots. And doing anything in Amazon SES is so confusing, it took me forever the first time.. I wouldn’t do this but I had a hack and I’m getting rid of any plugins that aren’t being updated and it doesn’t look like WP SMTP is any longer.

When it says email, I wasn’t sure if that meant only users with access to editing Matomo or all my users (granted I’m not a developer so maybe that would be clear to a dev).
I planned on installing it myself and giving him permissions, but if it’s anything like Google Analytics I set up the basics and then lose all interest and my will to live. ?? Thought I’d just skip that part and have someone set it all up.
And I was planning on making sure his wordpress capabilities exclude viewing or exporting my users, so I’ll follow those directions.

For whatever reason, this started working today, Saturday. I don’t know if you changed anything, I know we didn’t. It worked on my dev site since Thursday. But my main site, on the same server, it didn’t work for me or my web admin Thursday or Friday, but does today.
So marking as resolved, but for unknown reasons.
my web admin said:
Maybe Updraft has some idea where the 502 is being thrown from as we do not see it on this end. This usually means there is a communication issue between nginx the web server and PHP but nothing at all is being logged which in most cases means the issue is not on our end.
also, here is the Developer Console error, each time i tested it looks the same:
Web admin says max execution time is 6o seconds but I get the error nearly instantaneously within 1 second.
The dev site and the live site are on the same server btw, and works fine on dev. I wondered if the problem is I can’t use the same IAM for each instance? Like I said I first tried the same access/secret keys that worked on dev, then I created another set for the same IAM, so I dont’ think this is the case, but it’s the only difference I can think of since dev and live are identical sites.

Thank you, I did a test and yes they did all delete, I still got a 504 Server Timeout, but when I checked the orders I could tell about 3,000 had been deleted without having to delete in batches, which is great. Will test again when I need it to confirm it still works a second time and if so will donate, as this is useful for me at least every other month. Thanks.
edit: meant to say only let me delete 100 at a time
I can’t test it because I needed to delete all the orders that day so I just sat there and deleted them 100 at a time until they were deleted. However @medienvirus does seem to have tested and had same problem, unusual that he would come to post that within 24 hours of my posting.
