In reply to: Call to deprecated action in user creation?Ah yes, that’s it.
I totally misunderstood the do_action API’s, I thought the first parameter had to be an existing function.
Thanks!

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profilePermissions are the same on all files, owned by the web server, rw for _www and r for everybody else.

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profileBoth Safari and Firefox on OS X 10.6.8. They both show the same behavior.
Also, though this is my only multi-site local installation, I have other installations of 3.2.1 that work without a problem. I’ve also validated that the config and .htaccess file match what the Network setup states they should look like.
Thanks again!

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profileOK, all files accounted for, no differences. All that’s left is maybe a database setting of sorts? Some configuration somewhere that could prevent the dashboard from showing?

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profileWell, there wasn’t a mu-plugins folder, but renaming the plugins folder did show the plugins were de-activated, but nothing more.
I’ll have to compare the installed sources to the base 3.2.1 package. Hopefully I’ll figure it out from there. If I do, I’ll report back.
Thanks!

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profileThat’s why it’s so weird…
As stated above, I turned off all plugins and still get the same behavior… I’ll have to “try, try again” there as well, just wondering what logic there’d be that would prevent the dashboard from showing up for a network admin (or anybody else for that matter) as well as what “external influences” (like a plugin adding an action or something else to a given hook) could have that effect.
Thanks though.

In reply to: Dashboard no longer available, network redirects to profileYes, “used to”, but between last time and now, I’m “pretty certain” nothing changed. In other words, I really have no idea what could have affected this.
Common thread though is that on the working “network” pages, there never is the dashboard showing. I think the redirect happens because of this (i.e. tries to show the dashboard, sees a condition that says the dashboard doesn’t show, then redirects).
What rules would prevent a network admin from seeing the dashboard?

In reply to: Update Network > redirect loop!?Other track.
https://site.localhost/wp-admin/network/plugins.php works and shows a semi-adequate toolbar on the left (ex: the ‘site’ menu shows up, the ‘plugins’ menu is complete). However, the dashboard is missing from the choices.
All plugins are disabled, and still the same issue.

In reply to: Update Network > redirect loop!?I have a similar issue on a locally hosted site. Here’s my setup:
1- Mac OS 10.6.8 (standard Apache and PHP, compatible version of MySQL)
2- Manually updated hosts entries and the vhosts to recognize different “subdomains” of my localhost
3- Multisite-enabled installation placed in one of those subdomains, with sub-subdomains for the sub-sitesAll sites work well, and even going to the network admin page used to work, even, if memory serves me right, after the update to 3.1.1.
Now, using the only account I have which is a network admin, each time I attempt to access the equivalent of https://site.localhost/wp-admin/network/ I get redirected to the profile page.
Based on this setup I would doubt that there’d be a mismatch as described above. I’m also not attempting to access network on one of the sub-subdomains.
Thoughts/suggestions?

In reply to: Unable to download export fileI know this is an old post but, by any chance, did you install wp-migrate-db? I’ve had to disable it to get the function working again.
