Wow, that is odd! Yes, I am referring to the Customer Note field in the Orders > Edit Orders just like you have it pointed out. I should be using all of the latest versions. I’ll keep you posted if I can’t get it resolved, thanks!

I’m sorry for not clarifying. Yes, the note comes through with the html as plain text. Here’s an example:

Hey, thanks for the reply! I write a nice thank you note and some details for my customer and try to use very basic html such as <b>
<p>, etc., but when the message is delivered it strips all of the html and sends a garbled single paragraph mess.

Thanks @bize for the help… here’s more details on how I fixed based on your feedback:

Okay, looks like I was finally able to solve this issue. Turns out there was traces of “groups-groups_read_post” meta-key being left in the WP database for my posts/pages even with the plugin erased completely. For future reference if anyone is having this type of issue, here’s what I did to fix it for my site:

REMEMBER TO BACKUP WP and DB before doing this.

1) With GROUPS plugin activated, go to dashboard menu > Groups > and check ON delete all groups plugin data upon deactivation.
2) Go to plugins > deactivate groups plugin
3) Delete groups plugin
4) Go to PHPmyAdmin and in your WP database, erase (drop) all tables that are remaining named something like this WP_groups_xxxx (WP can be something else depending on your database name)
5) Then, search the rest of your DB for this meta-key: groups-groups_read_post
6) Erase all that have this meta-key assigned.

This is how I erased all traces of the previous GROUPS plugin that was causing my site issues. After doing all that, I reinstalled GROUPS and everything was working perfectly after — no more 404 errors or page not found for basic pages.

Hi, I ran into this same problem today. I tried deleting plugin data (groups > settings) and deactivated the plugin to erase data but that didn’t work either. I tried changing permissions for each page to NONE or REMOVE and that didn’t work. I even deleted the Groups and Capabilities but that still didn’t work.

What’s odd is that some pages can be viewed fine by logged out users but some pages now won’t allow logged out users to view.

Did it work to delete the Groups plugin altogether?

That’s my point. They took a simple “edit page” feature into something layman site owners like myself who aren’t coders to pay for an easy mod. Paying is one thing convenience is another. Plus now I can’t use my short codes and plugins. Just a horrible uSer experience in my opinion.

Woocommerce basically said you need to know PHP to make any edits. So were SOL.
