It would be easier if someone on Facebook make a step by step tutorial how to setup Social Publisher. Screenshot would really helpful, but please don’t throw much technical jargon, just show us steps how to make it works.

When I click create a new story button on facebook there’s a new window with empty action type list. Then I type “Publish” and select an object type “Article”. After clicking create button, it show this error:

A custom Publish action is restricted. Please use the common Publish action instead.

Ya sure, there’s a documentation and video tutorial, but man it only helpful if you really knows what they talking about. Full of jargon even in the video, she use a VI text editor. It would alienate most of wordpress user who at first want to use this plugin. The reason WP so popular because it can be setup even by non-technical user. That’s different with facebook plugin.

Sure, how can I get the download link for the plugin?

Would somebody mind teach non-technical user like me how to set up Social Publisher. I’ve created an app on facebook, but get stuck when trying to set up social publisher.

I’ve read the manual and video tutorial about open graph, but it so frustating just to understand what they talking about. How come the one explaining in the video use VI text editor or something on a thousand dollar macbook.

I though she was using some kind of DOS until I look more carefully actually it’s a text editor. Is she trying to make her looks smart or to alienate most users who just try to get this plugin working. If she really smart, she can explain complex thing easier not make it harder.

So please is there somebody would mind to explain it step by step.

Control panel? do you mean something like cpanel? I’m using shared hosting with cpanel. wp configuration on my site is very basic:

wp 3.5.1 (local version id-ID) with wp total cache, disqus and better wp security plugin. Before it I was using facebook social plugin, but it’s too hard to configure and I deleted it already. I’m not really tech savvy.

Thing that I change in wp-config before installation are salts and DB table prefix.

Now even with iframe, youtube video won’t show up. Looks like there are others who have the same problem, but if not everyone experience this, then probably there will be no fix in the next wp update.

If this because the configuration on my site, I really like to know what is it and how to fix it.

It works now, using iframe code from youtube. The one with shorter URL: https://youtu.be/bt51MWll1oY only displays the text.

because wp only display the URL, I already deleted the URL in the post. but I’ll try again making a new post with video.

I’ve just tried steps you said: all plugins are inactive, using 2012 theme, and active_plugins in wp_options table shows a:0:{}

still wordpress won’t show the video. I’ve created a new test post only with the youtube url with no <!–more–> tag. It’ doesn’t work too.

is there any way to add video manually to wordpress just for temporary. iframe, embed, shortcode doesn’t work too.
