I’ve written the site owner and asked him to run this by the original creator of it. It’s possible he blocked this feature, but to what end I have no idea. However if he has done some customization outside of the basics of header style and overall appearance I do not want to update anything or tweak it myself without first getting that info so my changes don’t crash anything. However I have the entire site in its current configuration backed up, including database etc.

Thank you esmi, I will see if they can get me some further information. I find it odd that the only thing not functioning on the site is the ability to have drop-downs, as the new pages work OK when opened, header options work, links work etc.
Everything except being able to see them when you roll over “Products”! I need to sort this out quickly as I’ve got another existing page on his site I’ve created sub-pages for, to expand on his many custom projects.

I don’t want to be forced to use work-arounds like the product title links, those are only there in case someone goes directly to the main products page rather than choosing a drop-down category option, for convenience.

The theme (twenty-eleven)states it has an update available, but the entire site was updated less than 3 weeks ago to the new version of WP, plugins and theme were supposed to have been updated at that time as well (by the person who set the page up initially, when he was editing permissions so I could create/edit pages and so forth) but I cannot see anything custom when reviewing it via the dashboard, outside of the header plug-in and the SEO plug-in. Neither of those have any settings that indicate control over sub-pages, I’ve read through their complete info in the site and visited their support pages.

Also, there does not seem to be anything on the 20-11 support page noting special methods for creating drop-down pages. every indication on the dashboard shows as being done correctly, yet it won’t work.
