I think they might have already changed to the latest version, I think I was looking at one of their older documents. I will verify with them and get them to change this if its a problem.

In reply to: [Comments Evolved for WordPress] sufficient permissions to access this page.It broke my site. Had to delete the plugin via the cpanel. I reinstalled the plugin and it broke the site with the same error message.

I know someone who had the same issue. For her it turned out be an issue with the theme. It was not compatible with the WP 2.9. She tried several different ones and they all did the same one. She did find a theme that worked. Check and see if your theme has an update. If it does update and try again. If yours does not have a update to test.Try a couple of themes that have already been updated.
