Sure i know the meta title template, but the point is that it is overwritten by the custom post meta title, and i want to mass-append something to all the custom meta titles.

I try to explain better:

title: “Post 1”
custom meta title: “This is Post 1”

title: “Post 2”
custom meta title: “Wow! The Post n.2″

etc. for hundreds of posts.

I want to append ” – read this!” in order to have:

title: “Post 1”
custom meta title: “This is Post 1 – read this!”

title: “Post 2”
custom meta title: “Wow! The Post n.2 – read this!”

But using the YOAST title template i can only obtain:

title: “Post 1”
custom meta title: “Post 1 – read this!”

title: “Post 2”
custom meta title: “Post 2 – read this!”

The problem is not 100% solved

I have noticed that with both modifications remain errors in link rel=”canonical” and link rel=’shortlink’

canonical: mysite.com/NUMBER/ instead of mysite/page/NUMBER/
This causes a lot of not found errors in Google Serch Console!!!

shortlink: mysite.com insted of mysite.com/?page=NUMBER

Any temp solution?

I think that my site is not relevant, as it is a wp core function.

I have tried to edit comment-template.php at line 783:

function get_comments_link( $post_id = 0 ) {
$hash = get_comments_number( $post_id ) ? ‘#comments’ : ‘#respond’;
$comments_link = get_permalink( $post_id ) ;

removing #comments string, but nothing happens.

The fix by ngopthanh is better than mine because overwriting the file: wp-includes/query.php causes a wrong canoinical url in the paged pages.

I have found a temporary fix:
overwrite the file: wp-includes/query.php with the 4.4 version

Same for me, anyone has a temporary fix?

I’d like a 404 in order to avoid duplicate content. Don’t know why, but Google spiders my category pages both with and without the CAT slug.

I have found a lot of methods and plugins for using the structure
https://www.mysite.com/categoryname/

But i want to mantain the base “cat” and have a 404 error when typing the url without base cat.

after some days of test with the fix, the plugin seems ok and has no auto deactivations.

Now i can say that is the best way to protect the bbpress from spam, as none of the previous plugin i installed solved the problem (even re-captcha).
