In reply to: help me get my comments working…Can someone help me now that I know “where” the problem is?
My hosting company gave me a clue… but I don’t know how to fix it… hope you do!
This appears to be an issue with your elements-of-seo theme. In wp-content/themes/elements-of-seo/comments.php, on line 73, there is the following line:
wp-content/themes/elements-of-seo/comments.php:73:<p>You must be /wp-login.php?redirect_to=<?php the_permalink(); ?>”>logged in to post a comment.</p>In particular, the first part, ‘../stauffer/’ is what is causing this issue. It is attempting to set up a link for <yoursite>/stauffer/<your site url>/wp-login.php?etc, which is, of course, failing. You will either need to edit this file, speak with the developer of the theme, or find someone who is able to assist with this coding matter. Unfortunately, while I was able to find it, I am not authorized to actually make changes to site code. Please let us know, however, if you have any further issues that we can assist with, and I hope that this will let you find a good starting point to fix the problem.

In reply to: Threaded CommentsFYI: The theme owner does not seem to answer his emails or problems with the theme. I’ve been having problems with a section of the theme, too.
If I don’t hear from someone to help me with the problem I’m having, I’m going to have to change the theme this week. After all, I can’t have no comments allowed. ??

In reply to: how do I ban someone?Since they all head websites that ended the same way, I was able to use Settings/Discussion and ban the offender.
However with the newest version of WordPress, they got through. I’ll try some of the other suggestions.

In reply to: how do I ban someone?Thank you both. I have activated Akismet and one other one. I will go add the part of their websites that is the same (the URLS are different, the ends are the same. Then if that doesn’t work, I’ll go for vtxyzzy’s suggestion.
They got me— less than 24 hours after I put the blog up. EGADS!
I removed it as a widget; but that also removed the RSS feed from picking up all the stuff I added after I removed it.
Any thoughts?
(I did put the RSS feed back, dont’ want to use Feedburner and wonder what other options I have)

Thank you; but that didn’t work.
Thank you ESMI. I’ll go look for a plug in that does what I want and add that to the right side bar.
