In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Lazy Load Not WorkingDone. Still no lazy load. I can’t seem to get anything to show up in log at all anymore. No matter how much I click around the site, in a private window or not, nothing shows up.
I did just disconnect from the QUIC.cloud CDN today because it was causing a 508 error on my site. I checked with my hosting, I’m nowhere near any resource limits, and the error goes away when I turn the CDN off. Does the log rely on being connected to the CDN?

In reply to: Troubleshooting the Desandro MasonryI did a lot more testing, and it looks like the skipped spaces are entirely random, largely unrelated to the number of posts or which posts are on the page.
It acts the same way on the home page and in a category. I looked through all the JS/CSS/PHP for handling the masonry in the home page and in the categories, and it’s almost all identical. I then put all my posts in the uncategorized category and they space weirdly there too. It’s not specific posts, as I’ve tried taking each of them out of the category and back in and there were no consistent patterns to the shape of the spacing. Often, the post immediately before it would fill in its lone space on the line.
It also isn’t to do with post number specifically, since I tested this with nine posts in Uncategorized – the same as Reviews, where everything looks fine – and the spacing was wrong then too. However, when I tested with a slightly different array of nine posts in Uncategorized, not the same as the previous or as in Reviews, the spacing was fine again.
In one case, I had 20 posts with gaps, took out two posts, had a perfect grid of 18. Added one, gaps again. Substracted one, 18 posts again, should be the same grid, has gaps.
Adding a “load more” cutoff after 15 posts in a category of 21 posts with gaps made it behave perfectly as a 7×3 grid. Adding a “load more” cutoff at 9, on the other hand, created gaps again starting in the third row.
Is there any known reason for this kind of sporadic masonry behavior?
Does anyone have any fix or workaround ideas or alternatives you like?
Thank you!

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Lazy Load Not WorkingI repaired the database following the instructions, confirmed the file output ‘done’, deleted repair.php, and enabled lazy loading again. Same thing. Still no lazy loading. (Page speed is still exactly the same with all the features of LiteSpeed disabled too.) I checked the log again, but there was nothing there about the loading.

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Lazy Load Not WorkingTo top it all off, I just got an ERROR 520
(The QUIC.cloud server NA-US-IAD-57 was not able to connect to the site’s origin server.) However, the documentation states that the LiteSpeed web server will automatically update allowlist IPs, and curl is telling me I am on a LiteSpeed server.(Thanks for reading and sorry for mentioning several issues! I’m putting them all here in case it looks like there might be something obvious big picture that I’ve missed that would solve my original issue.)
Edit: that 520 error went away after a few minutes and another curl revealed I’d successfully connected with NA-US-IAD-57, while the ones just a few minutes prior were from NA-US-IAD-265. It looks to me like the site went down for a minute between changing server IPs until it automatically added the 57 number to the allowlist. Is this typical of QUIC.cloud?

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Lazy Load Not WorkingThis is also making me wonder whether other parts of LiteSpeed aren’t working properly on my site right now. I’ve been setting up various LiteSpeed configurations for performance all day (such as minifying and combining and inlining CSS and JS, creating UCSS, setting up with QUIC.cloud, loading CSS asynchronously, turning on both guest mode and guest optimization, etc. Through all this I haven’t seen any change in my Page Insights speed (it remains in the 90s on desktop and the 70s on mobile, exactly the same as before). This surprised me, since an article from LiteSpeed showed how guest mode alone has a huge impact on site speed.
I’ve been clearing the cache of both my browser and LiteSpeed regularly. Is there possibly something really obvious I’m missing that’s making large chunks of the plugin not work?
It is serving images as webp (at least, most of them… some of them are still being served as pngs, as are all the post thumbnails, and I optimized all images at once today, so I’m not sure what the distinction is), so I know at least part of it is working.

In reply to: [LiteSpeed Cache] Lazy Load Not WorkingThanks for your reply.
The log doesn’t say anything about the lazyload, or loading in general. I can’t find anything in it that looks related.

In reply to: Troubleshooting the Desandro MasonryAn interesting thing to note is that the masonry behaves as it should on specific category pages (see here, where the masonry has looked normal with every number of posts in the Reviews category so far). It looks like it’s only placing things in wonky patterns on the homepage.

In reply to: Creating Mobile Menu / Fixing Slicknav?Thank you!! I really appreciate the help. I didn’t know much about WordPress themes starting out, but it’s good to know there’s lots of options out there that achieve a similar effect.

In reply to: Creating Mobile Menu / Fixing Slicknav? You’re right. I re-downloaded and temporarily restored all the original theme files and the mobile menu is broken out of the box, and I’ve spent way too long trying to sort out why.
I picked this theme because I liked its masonry and basically nothing else about it, figured since I’m going to gut it and build much of it myself anyway it’s as good a place to start as any. Thanks for showing me _s, as I didn’t realize there were themes out there for this specific purpose.
The theme’s developer site seems to imply support is only available for paying customers, which I am not. I’ll reach out anyway and see whether they have any useful information.
Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it. I’ll consider my options.
