I tried the suggestion of creating an email that was wordpress@domain, with no luck, then noticed some of my sites sent alerts via a noreply@domain address and they had WP Mail SMTP installed, configured with the noreply email. Installing WP Mail SMTP and configuring with a noreply@domain worked for me, and it looks like I can get my wordfence & wordpress alerts again! thanks for the suggestions!

In reply to: [List category posts] Wrong category showing in ElementorThank you! The documentation showed the name and ID parameters without quotes, although other items do show as needing quotes. Adding quotes to the dog journal page did fix the issue (which was that two or three of the categories were being listed). Oddly, on the other page where I used the short codes, it worked correctly without the quotes. I’ve added them there too just for consistency.

In reply to: [List category posts] Wrong category showing in ElementorThe two lists are displaying identically. Shortcode being used on the columns/positive research page is [catlist name=columns number=20] and catlist name=positiveresearch number=20] and on the dog journal page it’s [catlist name=dog journal number=20]. Results are the same if I use dogjournal, Dog Journal, DogJournal, or if I use ID=3. I get the same 20 items. If I use the built in category widget, the category entries are listed correctly so I know it’s not that WordPress doesn’t know which post is which category.
The web host said it was a memory limit and ctype extension was missing. They increased the memory to its highest limit, and added the ctype. All is working now.
Yesterday’s backup was successful, after a string of failures. I didn’t change anything. Anyone else have a resumption of successful backups?
I am also having the same problem. Backup has failed every day since June 5, with these error messages:
The backup failed: The server failed to retrieve the backup. The reason is unknown. Please consult the activity log.
The server failed to retrieve the backup. The reason is unknown.
The unknown error token the server returned was: UNKNOWN_FAILUREI downloaded the full backup and deleted it, and ran a manual backup with the same results.
I am very close to the 100 mb file limit, but I believe removal of old files to make room is automatic?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact Form 7 has quit workingyes, Jetpack was installed about the same time, and didn’t interfere with Contact form; I saw a notice about that and have deactivated Jetpack’s contact feature, to no avail.

In reply to: user name invalid – can use admin site but not user profileThe config file does point to the previous database, user name and password (even though I created a new database which should have wiped out the old one, using the old config file was the only way to allow the blog to be viewed). However, the old user name/password does not work at all for accessing my WP profile, and the new user name/password work only for the forums. When I try to access a profile from the admin page I get “invalid username”. Do I need to create a third profile?
