could you let me know which version of the theme you used before? It would also be great if you can provide me with your URL so that I can have a look at the code to see what’s happening.

Do you see the little ‘customization’ button when you go to your Templates overview under Appearance/Editor/Templates? You might need to clear your customizations, e.g. for the Single or Index template. Could you try that?

Hi @bitcolorine yes, as @tk86 said FSE themes still need the Gutenberg plugin to be installed and active, that’s what caused the error.

Once 5.9 is released in December we can deactivate the Gutenberg plugin when using the Aino theme.

It’s also recommended to use our Aino Blocks plugin so you can take advantage of all the default patterns we offer with Aino.

@ckubs , Thanks so much for trying Gutenberg and Aino. It’s awesome that you get familiar with FSE now, I think as early as we get familiar with FSE and the way block themes work, the better in the long run.

Unfortunately child theme support is not quite there yet in FSE block themes. But as we looking into thew support for child themes ourselves, I will work on improving Aino’s child theme support as fast as possible.

At the moment it’s necessary to copy all block templates and template parts as well as the theme.json file into the child theme in order for it to work. I recommend to then update the files from the parent theme when the parent theme updates.

I know it’s not ideal, but I will write on our Aino block as soon as the child theme situation has improved.

@entlein : I know, we also find the Navigation block default of 600px too narrow. I plan to adjust this in one of the next updates.

I have not checked if it’s possible to adjust the width with CSS only, but I will look into it and try to find the best/most flexible solution asap.

I will report back here as soon as I have an answer.

Ok, no worries at all. The issue you reported though is not an issue with WordPress 5.8 but instead it was caused by an update of our Aino blocks.

I fixed this issue already from what I tested and you should be able to upload your Hero image again. But of course I understand if you want to use an alternative theme instead. If you ever want to switch back to Aino again, please let me know when I can help you with anything.

Could you maybe check the PHP version you are using in your hosting account? This might be the issue, since you don’t have any further plugins installed.

I’m so sorry that I missed to reply to you. We will add further options to the Grid block soon to make it more flexible. Then you will be able to reset the max-width restriction.

I see the issue and I will fix the bug in the next update. As a first workaround you can include the following custom CSS in the Customizer:

.header-cta-wrap .menu-item a {color: white !important;}
