    Thanks for the info.
This issue would be resolved in a future version of Woo Image SEO.
Until then, we suggest trying to add the HTML class “woo-image-seo-skip” to some of the images that should not be processed by the plugin.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback.
It’s unfortunate to hear that you have issues with the plugin.

The Woo Image SEO plugin is meant to be a general-purpose solution that works on most websites.
There are currently 5000+ websites that use it.
However, some specific themes or plugin’s might not be fully supported.

If you wish, you could mention your active theme and installed plugin’s here.
This would allow me to test for myself in the future.

If you want to get more personalized support, please use the plugin’s contact form.

    Regards,
    Danail

    Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds like the active theme doesn’t utilize the recommended WordPress image render hooks.

Woo Image SEO provides a common solution that works on the majority of websites.

Feel free to use the plugin’s contact form to get more personal support.

    Hello,

You can check the image attributes from your browser’s Dev Tools.
For example, on most browsers you can do the following:
    1. Right Click on product image
    2. Select Inspect
    3. Navigate to the <img> element
    4. Check the attributes

    This screenshot might help explain:
    https://emandiev.com/plugins/woo-image-seo/check-image-attributes.png

Please note that depending on your theme/plugins used to build the product page, you might have a different HTML structure.
This would lead to <img> elements being placed inside <a> elements, etc.
Or in the worst case, the Woo Image SEO plugin might not work at all.

It is meant to be a general-purpose solution and relies on a native WordPress hook called wp_get_attachment_image_attributes.

There are also a lot of free tools and extensions that can generate you a report of all image attributes found on a page.
    For example, this one:
    https://adresults.com/tools/alt-tags-checker

    I hope this info helps.

    Hello,

You can expect an update by the end of April.
It would bring full compatibility with the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce.

I have plans for more features and a possible premium version in the next few months.
In the meantime, feel free to send any suggestions or feedback using the plugin’s contact form.
This will help me understand what functionality you need and eventually implement it in the plugin.

    Thanks,
    Danail

The author of the support ticket sent me a link to their website using the plugin’s contact form.

    Hello,

After checking out the front-end of the website, I can confirm that the main product images don’t have their alt attributes changed by the plugin.
This is probably due to the way your WordPress Theme is rendering the images.

For example, the related product below have their attributes changed as expected.
    https://prntscr.com/1rk8akn
This means that the plugin is most likely working correctly on your website.

Note that the plugin cannot work with all available WordPress themes.
It depends on a WordPress filter being used to display the product images.
Big themes like Divi, Avada, etc. use the appropriate filters and hooks and the Woo Image SEO plugin will work with them.

You could try contacting the theme’s author.
If you do, make sure to mention that the main product image isn’t using the recommended filters.
More specifically, we need the wp_get_attachment_image_attributes filter.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Danail

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info!

I just released version 1.2.5 of the plugin.
    It fixes the issue.

    Hi

Applying the default plugin settings might fix the issue.
This can be done from the plugin’s settings page.

If resetting the plugin’s options didn’t help, I will need some additional info about the server configuration and error messages.

It’s not the best idea to post error logs here because of security concerns.

Unfortunately, this support forum has some rules that could make troubleshooting the issue harder (we cannot share sensitive info here).

    The rules also say this:
“Do not post email addresses, ask others to post their email or solicit contacting people off of the forums.”
So I guess cannot recommend contacting me directly.

The plugin settings page has a contact form that can be used to report issues or give feedback.
I hope that the moderator team approves of this…

    Thanks,
    Danail

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, the plugin cannot handle all available WordPress themes.
You can try contacting the theme’s developer (if it’s a premium theme).

Right now, I am focused on building a general solution that works on most websites.
In the future, I might go through the most popular themes to add theme-specific fixes/addition.

    Hi

This plugin will not affect the images in the content/description and other fields.

Only the main product images will be handled.

    I hope this helps.
