    Managed that too, but problem still persists.
    Do i need to do anything else after replacing the file, or how long does it take for the change to take effect?

    Hi WPyogi,Thank you very much for your help by far. I managed to delete the corrupted functions file, however am not quite sure how to download the fresh one. As I said, I am quite new to wordress, can you elaborate please?

    Just placed this bit ( function_exists(‘register_sidebar’) ) into functions.php file.
