I have the same problem but far less technical knowledge than the original poster.
This plug-in fixed my issues with FB not showing an image for my homepage URL or post URLs when shared, but where Twitter cards were previously picking up the image from my post URLS automatically, now they don’t display any image (neither in the Card validator tool or in tweets).
In my case, the image displayed in my post on my website was an embedded Flickr image. I set the Open Graph image settings to pull the first image displayed in the post.
Again, this works on FB but not on Twitter, i.e. my issues still exist but they’re reversed.
I saw several others reporting issues with Twitter card images without any replies, so I tweeted at the developer of the plug-in and he simply told me to post to the forum. :/
Anyone out there have any ideas?
