In reply to: [Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin] redirect except if query stringHi Don,
I hope you’re well, thank you so much for your answer here!
I updated the plugin and added the function into my child theme file but I didn’t totally solved the issue.I guess my problem comes from a plugin designed for translation purposes: QTranslate X.
Here’s my case:
I have a page with base URL https://mywebsite.com/mypage.
Trough QtranslateX, this url becomes dynamically https://mywebsite.com/lang/mypage (for example: https://mywebsite.com/it/mypage)Then, because of another plugin, I may have some parameters added to the URL and what I need, as I told you in the first place, is to redirect to another page unless a parameter is added.
So, I need to have https://mywebsite.com/mypage redirected to https://mywebsite.com/my-other-page but https://mywebsite.com/mypage/?param=etc mustn’t be redirected.
Problem is, even if I don’t take the parameter thing into account, I only get to redirect from page A to page B if I set it to meta redirect, in a regular rule from post edit page… 301 and Quick Redirects don’t work.
I guess this issue comes from QTranslate X, and the way it adds the /lang/ to the URL when the page is loading.
So if I set a regular redirect with meta option, it works, but I can’t exclude the URL with parameter from the redirection.
What I’d like to do would be trying to use Quick Redirects and the function you gave me to exclude URLs with parameters from redirection rules, but I understood from your help section that those only are 301 unless we override them with filters… I think maybe that’s why I can’t get it to work… and I’d need to make Quick Redirects work as meta type, so that redirections would have a chance to work even if QTranslate X adds its /lang/ thing to the URLs.
I’m not quite sure I made myself clear but I hope you’ll understand my problem here… sorry to bother you with such a situation… thank you very much anyway,
Warm regards,

have a great day,
emilienHi “Ultimate Member” ?? and thank you for your message,
what are your thoughts about this? can you please tell me if you consider to solve this little bug? (just to anticipate regarding my workflow)thank you again and have a great day,
Emilien
if I may add something:
editing the profile images and biography (placed inside the header) works… only the fields inside the profile itself can’t be updated.
Other than this and from what I saw, everything works really great between Qtranslate X and UM, so I guess you aren’t so far from being able to communicate about UM being compatible with both WPML and QTranslate as major translation solutions for WordPress.
I also had a message from the qTranslate X plugin team that told me you could have a look at this page.
Thank you so much for considering this thread, have a great day,
Emilien

In reply to: [qTranslate X] rewrite urls only for CPTsHi Gunu and thanks for your quick reply,
my problem is I have to work with some plugins and a theme which compatibility with Qtranslate-X isn’t ready, whereas they work great with WPML…
Problem is WPML duplicates posts and creates many IDs and for some CPTs I have no choice but keeping one ID for each post. Qtranslate-X works this way, that’s why I try to work with it also.
In my install, WPML manages Posts, Pages, Menus, taxonomies, … and I only need Qtranslate-X in order to translate my CPTs content.
I don’t need a language switcher for those posts because I just add links for translations into their content directly. I don’t even need a header or a menu actually… and I use Qtranslate-X in raw mode for those CPTs.
Problem is when I go to a default post or page (translated with WPML), switching the language through the WPML language switcher, I get redirections thats aren’t active if I disable Qtranslate-X. So it breaks my menu and WPML translations.
Is there any way to load Qtranslate-X’s scripts only for certain CPT’s? Or is there any way to restrict URL’s rewriting only to those CPTs?
thanks again (a lot) for your help,

In reply to: [GEO my WP] Change Single Location Input to MultipleHi Eyal,
anything on this?
are you planning things like:
– multiple locations per post
– routes between posts locations
– gpx tracks
– polylines and stuff
– …In a general way, do you have kind of a roadmap regarding future updates and features?
this would really be a great help to anticipate our future use of your great plugin and its add-ons, because for now, we have to mix your features with other plugins ones such as maps marker pro or others.Thank you so much for your answer and thank you so so much for your great work on GMW !!

In reply to: [BadgeOS] Complete x steps in a listHi Michael,
thank you for your message,
I made no progress on this, but I plan to have a deeper look with a developer to help me.
My main problem in general is the amount of badges that I have on my website.
I use different post types to create a hierarchy of them:level 1: simple and single badges
level 2: super badges = groups of single badges to unlock (steps)
level 3: groups of level super badges
…Then I need two things:
– when I create levels, be able to recheck manually which user earned which badge in case a same badge could be needed in super badges created after users began to earned it…– be able to set thresholds, in case a super badge could group dozens of badges, to make it earned when a user earnings reaches 80% of the steps list for example.
Just in case: are you aware of some enhancements to come? Were there another thread about something like this? did you think of something?
Those two things seem quite complicated though, I hope we will find a way.
I’ll keep you posted if you want if and when the dev finds something… ??thank you again and have a great day
OK thank you again, I’ll try to find a dev to work on it
