Sorry for belated reply, ended up working around this by just generating a pdf on the child form level as opposed to the parent, meant each entry got its own instead of an all-in-one but it worked for what my boss wanted.
But for reference was running into this with a variety of field types including single line text, paragraph text, chained selects and radio buttons.
